Console Won't read one Game.

I play a variety of games siege, nhl, etc. but when i try to play CoD black ops 3, it tells me to insert the disk into the drive when the disk is in there already, i've tried re inserting 10-15 times, nothing works. I went out and replaced the game, and
even with a new disk it still tells me to go to the market place to buy the game. The console reads every other disk fine but refuses to read black ops three. (the game is already downloaded and installed)

You can try the steps here
https://support.xbox.com/en-GB/xbox-one/console/disc-error but it sounds like your disc drive is borked.

Had this myself,the disc drives are not the best quality,especially in the earlier xbox ones.

You could send it of for repair but that would cost over £100 as it's out of warranty & in my experience it will only break again after a few months as the repair centre can't seem to fix things properly.

I would just buy a new console as it wouldn't cost much more than a repair or stick to digital content.

Have you tried the hard reset to see if it would help. Not likely but I guess it is worth a try if you have not already gave it a shot. Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord
from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console. Once it is back up and operational test for results. Let us know. Good Luck!

Mine started doing this a long time ago. The solution I found and has continued to work for me is when u are inserting a disk that is giving u this problem, hold onto the disk as you insert it, don't let it go as usual, keep a little resistance on it while
it's trying to pull it in. Hold it for 2 or 3 seconds, then let it go into the drive. Might sound odd, but it has proven to work for me. Post if it helps u.

Thanks for your replies, i have hard reset the xbox and disconnected the power cord, it worked for that one time, but then it went back to struggling to read the disk, it's a very odd problem considering its only with 1 disk and i've replaced the disk. I
will try your strategy next time DB, thanks.

Hi,

It's not the discs it's your console. If your console can not read DVD movies then it won't read Xbox 360 games either. DVD movie discs use the same type of discs that 360 games use (DVD-9).

The Xbox One has two lasers to read discs. One for Blu-rays - which Xbox One discs games are made of - and one for reading DVD's and Xbox 360 games.

Can you confirm if your console can read DVD discs?

Xbox 360 games are on DVD and Xbox One games are on Blu-Ray. The Xbox One's Blu-ray drive has a separate laser to read DVD's, if it has malfunctioned, Xbox 360 games can't be read and the digital download for BC games won't start.

To test this out, try playing a DVD movie disc. In all likelihood these films won't play and that will confirm drive malfunction. If this is the case you'll need your console repaired/replaced.

If the games are physical, the disc player is not working, and you should request a repair.

My son got the destiny game and it won't read it. All other games work and destiny even works on 2 other 360 consoles. Do I return the disc to the store for a new one? I don't understand why it just won't work on his. I about ready to throw the console out
the window!!
