Console won't power on, only had it a year, disgrace

Hi,

I have had a recent issue with my XBox One where it won't power on. I went through all the forums and troubleshoot guides and tried all I could and then spoke to Microsoft Support. The end point of this was that I was told I had a broken power source and
should order a new one. I spent £35 on a new PSU, only to try a PSU from a friend to check the issue and it doesn't work and the console still won't power on. My friend's console works fine with the same PSU.

I have had this console just over a year (March 2015) and find it a total disgrace that it has broken already. It has never been misused, mistreated and has always been well kept, but has just decided to not work. The fact that there is no clear complaints
number is also a joke.

Can someone please advise me of the next steps to take in getting this fixed and also how to go about a refund of the £35 PSU that wasn't needed.

How long do we have for bad XBONES?

well by the looks of it xbox give 1 year warranty, this alone is a disgrace with a console with so many faults

 

Xbox One S crashing during multiple games and users

Hi,

Anything changed in the year since this machine has been located there? Any additional devices plugged in to the mains?

How is this console connected to the power? Xbox consoles are suseptable to power issues. If it is connected to faulty power strip or a surge protector, this can cause console instability. Idealy the console should connected directly to the mains.

If the issue is power, then it's likely streaming video won't cause a crash as the console won't draw as much power as it does when gaming.

I had a similar problem with an original Xbox One. Playing video was fine, but games would crash. Had a replacement, same problem. On the third replacement, I plugged it directly into the mains, no more crashes.

 

I got the Xbox 1 Day 1 Edition console with Kinect at Launch, and it's still working fine.

Did you go through Microsoft with getting this "PSU"? Don't trust "a friend". Get official hardware or get it serviced through official means aka Microsoft. Not "some friend". And, how come you're Gamerscore = 0?

 

Sounds like we're missing a lot of trouble shooting here. With the new PSU (your "friends"), did you attempt to use several different outlets? You are plugging it right into a wall socket and not a power strip or surge protector, correct? Did you try
plugging in the wall outlet cord, plug that into the PSU, make sure the amber colored light comes on and then plug it into the Xbox? You may have shorted something out and doing a PSU reset may be the cure you need.

having the exact same issue, used multiple psu's (all proper xbox one types) it's not power the outlet i've tryed plenty of different appliances on said outlet (also i hold an electrical contractors license so i know its fine after some inspecting)
