Console wont load, and shuts down when ejecting and inserting disc.

When I was starting to play Halo: The Master Chief Collection and when I press the start button, it wont continue. Stuck with the background and the music. Then when I ejected the dice it automatically shuts down. After that when I start the console
up and running, when I inserted the disc it shuts down again, this makes me very unhappy. Please tell me what is happening if you have this problem too.

shut down Xbox when the game is still running?

Are the following actions harmful to console or disc? (it doesn't matter if the game is saved or not)

1. pressing "Shut Down" button to shut down the console when the disc is running

2. pressing eject button when the disc is running

3. shutting down console at "Xbox Home" screen but leaving the disc inside without ejecting.

The other thing to try is ejecting and re inserting the disc...

Sorry to hear you're having this problem. Can you please try powercycling the console by holding the power button on it for 10 seconds until it shuts down then unplug everything from the console and let it sit for 5 minutes to see if that helps?

If it does not you may need to set up a repair of the console.

Sometimes this freeze happens if you leave a game disc in the tray. If you remove the disc before shutting down the console or eject the disc during the freeze, it should load up your dashboard no problem.

finally figured it out...uninstalled the DLC, disconnected from online, ejected the disc, shut down the xbox, turned it back on, inserted the disc, connected to live, redownloaded the DLC,(took this process to even locate DLC and redownload...wasnt in reinstall
list or booting from the disc prior to disconnection) and it finally worked...

I have this same issue. If you insert the disc when the console gets turned on, you get an unrecognized disc error. When you eject and reinsert the disc when the console is at the home screen, it loads properly. Same with blu-ray movies. You have to
fire up the blu ray player app for the drive to recognize the disc, although this will occasionally work from the home screen as wel

Nope, the drive is perfectly capable of ejecting. When inserting a disc in good condition, and the Xbox is capable of reading it, i can use the X button to eject it. But the eject button on the console doesn't do anything. Also this is an Xbox one S
