Console will not update games in the background

You can check for game updates by going to My Games and Apps then looking at the Update section. I would also recommend setting your console to Instant On and turn on background downloads so that updates will happen even when the console is turned off.

If you have background downloads on it will update your console when you qutomatically update

trust me, your console does update in the background without you noticing! Whenever your console see's that your offline, that's when the update installs in the background without you knowing at all! Plus, your picture shows how you even have automatic
updates enabled which means it will download them without you knowing at all!

Trust me, its not updating the games because when I turn xbox on I have to manually start the game updates.

If your Console is set to Instant On its most likely Game Updates / Console updates. They get loaded in the Background so you wont even notice.

Game Updates these days are big and can result in that kind of data usage.

Do you have your console set to Instant On or Energy Saving? If the former then the console will be updating games in the background.

Try turning the console to Energy Saving and see if that makes a difference.
