Console will not boot up

Ever since I received my console it has had problems when I try to turn it on from completely off.

If I leave the console in stand by then it turns on fine. If I turn it completely off either through the power options or by holding the power button for 5seconds and turn it back on right away it starts up fine. But if I leave it turned off at the socket
over the weekend when I come back it will not boot up.

I press the power button and it will make the sound, the Xbox logo lights up, and the fans start up for 1-2 seconds then it all just cuts off. It seems to be getting worse, I have been trying to turn it on now for 20-30 minutes when it finally started up
again.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Since you have checked everything, then I would send the console to repair. Do not send the HDD though. Also as to what could be causing the problem - I have no idea.

The problem may be because your Video(HDMI) cable isn't plugged in properly, that will be the main thing that i'll check and if that didn't work i'd call Xbox Support and ask for a replacement console or troubleshooting in help. You can also use this quick

I'm not going to be of any help, but I can share that I had the similar experience where I'd get the X1 to turn on for 1-2 seconds, power supply light would go white for that short duration then go back to orange.

In the end, I was told it was a faulty power supply....but had to ship it at my cost ($12 with $150 postal insurance). I was livid when the customer service rep, from who knows where in the world he was from, told me I had to pay for shipping.

Top notch rep at that. Whole issue was that my X1 would not power up. In his troubleshooting efforts, he asked me to "power off the system". I gave him a 5 seconds to think about that. Then he asked me which country I was from....even though I had submitted
online for a call-back, so I'm a sure a corporation like MS had my account's information readily available for this technician.

In the end, when I balked that paying for shipping a faulty power supply based on poor engineering (read the number of complaints on this power supply issue), he told me I needed to talk to "Microsoft"....in his own way, saying he doesn't work for Microsoft.
Just who have I been talking to for that past 20 minutes?

All this to say to you, be prepared to ship back your power supply at your dime. Btw, just read up that you're not supposed to ship back the cord, just the power supply....so now I have to contact them this morning to ensure they ship me a cord with the
new power supply I'm owed.

Thanks for the reply Lucien, sadly it's not the good news I was hoping for but you have given me some insight into what it could be. Next time this happens I will borrow a friends power supply to test out if it is that or not.

I may just take the whole console back to my retailer and ask for them to replace it, seeing as the power supply is broken, and my kinect stopped working for now reason. I have a warranty with them as well so they have to do something!
