Console turning on by itself.

This started a couple of weeks ago. I would come downstairs in the morning and discover my console is on. Any time I turn it off by tapping the power button, or holding the home button and selecting turn off console, it turns itself on a few hours later.
It's very frustrating because my friends see me online and think I'm ignoring invites, not to mention when it turns the console on, the console turns my TV on and the home screen is burning an image into the TV. This does not happen when the console is hard
powered off. I don't know it it's my console going out, or one of the recent updates causing the problem, but I would like to be able to fix this.

My xbox one keeps turning on by itself randomly and I do not have the automatically download new apps/updates option turned on. When I go to turn my TV on to see what my xbox is doing, it's just sitting on the home screen. Is there a way
to prevent this from happening and/or what is causing this?

I'm sorry to hear about the issue. If you haven't done so lately, go ahead and unplug your console and then spray a soft, clean cloth with a household cleaner. Wipe down the front of your console and be sure that you don't have any fingerprints hanging out
over the power button. If that doesn't help, go ahead and double check that you aren't in

instant-on mode. If you are in energy-saving mode, go ahead and switch to instant-on and then

power cycle your console. Once you've done that, go ahead and toggle back to energy-saving mode and power cycle again.

Sorry to hear! Would there happen to be any objects that may be within range of the power button on your Xbox One console, such as loose cables? Additionally, this may be a bit of a reach but has been a cause for others with a similar issue, but is there
a possibility that you have any pets that could possibly be within reach of the power button? I know those are silly scenarios, but we've seen this in some cases with the touch buttons on the Xbox One console.

If the above does not apply, let's start out with the following steps:

• Press and hold the power button on your Xbox One console until the console fully powers down,
  
• Unplug your Xbox One console's power from the console and let it sit for 5 minutes
  
• After the time is up, plug everything back in and reboot.

If the issue occurs again, the next best step would be to Factory Restore your Xbox One console and select 'Reset and keep my games & apps'.
