Console takes a long time (5 minutes) to reach green boot up screen - stays there indefinitely

I haven't turned on the console in a long time, just moved houses and decided to use it again.

I turned it on and found it wasn't getting to the boot up screen - just black screen. Tried power cycling it a few times to no avail so I left it on for a while then after about 5 minutes it went from a black screen to the xbox one loading screen.

Only problem is it's perpetually stuck on this screen forever (at least 12 hours which was the longest I left it running).

I tried the system diagnostic/offline updater methods and neither worked, I suspect it's because it takes about 5 minutes for the console to reach the actual boot screen and yes, I did actually try holding the connection and eject buttons for 5 minutes until
the console reached its green boot screen - it didn't work.

Any ideas? I'm pretty sure I have to send it in for repairs which is beyond annoying.

    :)

Xbox oneS stuck on green boot screen

My sons xbox wouldnt connect to the wifi so i moved it into the room where the router is and hard lined it. When i went to turn the unit on it stays on the green boot screen indefinitely. Ive tried to power down and unplug it for 5 plus minutes to reset
and havent had it plugged back into the router and still nothing. It just stays on the boot up screen.

  3. Console Loading Length

Does anyone know what is going on with my console?!? Whenever I boot up my console, it goes to the white Xbox 360 screen and stays there for a long time. It takes 3-5 minutes to get to my home screen. Then once I start playing BO2 online, I can play one
games then it freezes loading the next map.

Not trying to sound like a smart *** here, but did you format your USB properly? If yes, did you try the factory reset version?

I had issues where I got the "something went wrong" and spent 2 hours with customer support. In the end they wanted me to pay $120 to get it repaired. I said "What the Heck. It was Xbox's update that *** up my Xbox and I need to pay?"

I was so upset, I downloaded the "factory reset" version and it fixed my issue. Not sure if it will fix yours or not.

Did your issue involve the xbox taking a good few minutes to go from a black screen to the loading screen too?

    Hi chillypacman,

Sorry you're having issues with your console. If your console is taking 5 minutes or more to boot up that is definitely not normal behavior, and may not be update related. Is your console online or offline? As it sounds like your console has been unplugged
for a while, I would suggest trying to a factory reset. I usually don't throw that out first, but in this case it may be the solution.

    Click this link
on the steps to do that, IF you can actually get to the dashboard.

If your console tried you update and your update didn't take correctly, and you followed all the steps using the Offline Updater, then the best option would be to send it in for repair using the link below. When hitting your bind and eject buttons, did you
by chance hear the beeps? Also, make sure you follow the
    directions here
step by step as it's pretty easy to miss something using this tool.

If you could factory reset and you're still having issues, or you cannot apply the update after a failed update, then I would suggest doing a repair here.

@ chillypacman sorry for late reply. My issue was when I booted up my xbox one I got the error message. I googled the error number and went to the link that told me to try the "USB fix".

It didn't work, and support told me to try the same thing. Nothing for me. I believe the update *** up my xbox and I refuse to pay something on their error. So I did the factory reset and it fixed my issue. My saved games were on the cloud so I am luck not
to loose my saves that way. Only pain is reinstalling the games, but it's a small price to pay so I don't have to send it out to be fixed.

After I tried the "fix" I had the green screen load for a few minutes and then get the black screen with lots of different languages saying "something went wrong" and the error message. You systems sounded like what i had.

I just can't believe Microsoft has the nerve to tell us to pay over a $100 to fix their errors on a system upstate.

    Hey chillypacman,

Did/Does your console, when you press the power up button, stay on but no picture for a minute or more then a black screen for a couple of more minutes, and finally the green screen which stays on forever?
