    Console system update


    I was playing an online game with a friend and we were winning, next second my screen goes black so thought my tv went off, turned tv off and on again and I am put on an update screen with no way to get back to my game, is there anyway to turn off automatic system updates because these things do be happening at the worst times possible

    Sorry to hear it. Updates are a necessary part of keeping your system healthy but I can understand getting kicked from a game in preference of it. The updates usually have a 48 hour leeway from when they're posted to allow you time to get it. I would recommend setting your console to Instant On then make sure that you've selected the option to keep the system and games updated in the background.

    This way the system will process updates when you're not using the console saving you waiting time.
