Console switching on itself

Discus and support Console switching on itself in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; Since a few weeks, my Xbox One console switches on automatically now and then.     Console switching on itself


    Since a few weeks, my Xbox One console switches on automatically now and then.

    No one is around, nothing is near the console but suddenly I hear it switching on.

    Is this a known problem and how can it be solved?

    Console switching itself off and on repeatedly

    I have tried cleaning the button with a micro fiber cloth as suggested an it's still repeatedly switching off. Can anyone assist

    Sometimes there can be a little dirt or oil from fingers stuck where the power button is. That can be cleaned with a microfiber cloth.

    -

    I haven't heard of them shutting off to protect your tv though.

    I am currently having the same problem where it switches itself off then on continuously. I am so confused and do not know what to do. I have had it for more than the guarantee is valid and cant take it back in.

    "I've come to the conclusion that the console was shutting itself off to prevent damage to the tv. Is this possible?" -- IMHO, absolutely. Once, whilst using Netflix on my console I switched the source on my tv to check a sports score. About a minute after
    I did that, my xbox shut off. Restarted, no error messages, launched Netflix.... All was well. Curiosity got the best of me so I hit the source button enough times to go all the way through and back to the hdmi source my xbox was on. There was message saying
    something to the effect of the source was interrupted and the system was turning off. --I've also had issues with a tv I was using with "Anynet". Where, through hdmi the console can turn the tv on and vice versa. Was not a good relationship... All this to
    say that with an hdmi connection the problem could lie in the tv, or of course the wire, might be some weird setting, loose or bad connection or port... If possible, I'd say do as WindiestThree08 and try another TV, maybe even a different hook-up. Process
    of elimination...
