    Console streaming doesn't work if you appear offline


    Discovered this bug today. If your status on Xbox is set to "Appear offline", the game streaming app will fail to start a stream unless you're connected to your home network(same network as your streaming Xbox). Outside wifi/cellular data connection will lead to an error message stating "Failed to start stream". It'll go as far as reaching your Xbox, turning it on, and signing you in, but it'll fail to connect to your Xbox to start the stream. Change your profile back to appear online and everything works as it should.

    I reported this error through the game streaming app and on my Xbox.

    Edit : going offline before changing appear offline doesn't seem to work anymore...

    If doesn't work, probably something's faulty inside the console

    And nope, that error code appears usually when something's wrong with the Xbox OS or the console hardware
    Your account doesn't cause this

    You reset the console to the version that doesn't support offline without an update...and then expect it to work offline?

    Saying I'm offline to friends when profile is set to online

    Okay so at this time Xbox live was limited for social/gaming which can make friends list show up as offline even though there online. To change your online/offline theirs a few simple steps listed here:

    1. Goto friends page

    2. Click my profile

    3. The top option will say Appearing online (Or offline)

    4. Click appear online

    5. Reset your console

    IF that doesn't work please post back and ill assist you with some other options!

    Appear offline not working

    Keep in mind that indicator is a toggle and whatever it says on the screen you are showing the opposite to the community. When it says "Appear Online" that means if you click it you will appear online but the indicator will change to "Appear Offline". I
    hope that makes sense.
