    Hi, my issue is that my console keeps shutting down by itself after 45 minutes or so. The weird thing is that it only shuts down when playing games. When I'm watching Netflix it will stay on for hours. Not sure what's going on or how to solve it. Thank

    Hi Unltd144,

    If the XBOX 360's power supply is displaying a red color for any reason or acting up like this where it randomly turns off it's likely the power supply needs to be changed. Not sure if you've tried this but have you directly plugged the XBOX 360 power supply
    into a wall outlet and not a power strip? This can sometimes cause problems like this so please make sure of that before you continue further.

    If the problem still persists after you've plugged the power supply directly into a wall outlet then it's likely your power supply needs to be replaced. Please visit this site here to
    request an exchange for your power supply. There's no way to just fix this issue yourself, it will require that the power supply be replaced.

    Assuming your console is under warranty it's an even exchange, they send you instructions on where to send the power supply, you follow the instructions, they receive the power supply and send you one right back.

    Hopefully that will be the end of your problems.

    what button is it? the main power button in the console? if that so i don't get what you saying "i just kept pressing the button then turned it on and it stopped" can you explain it to me?

    It's overheating. Make sure the vents are clean and that the console has enough space for ventilation (about 2 inches on every side). If it still overheats, move it to an area with more ventilation. If it's out in the open, then it needs to be serviced.

    This can be caused by several issues. i would suggest that you firstly check what your Auto-Off settings are.

    1. Go to the SETTINGS page which is the page far right from the home page

    2. Select SYSTEM

    3. Select CONSOLE SETTINGS

    4. Select START UP & SHUT DOWN

    5. Select AUTO-OFF

    6. Disable this setting

    7. Turn off the console. Wait about 10 minutes, and then turn the console back on.

    There are some other solutions or things to try here if the above does not work :

    How old is the console? What color is the light on the power brick when the console shuts down?

    It's possible that the console itself or the power brick is overheating and causing the console to shut down like this. If this is the case it may be in need of a repair/replacement.
