Console set up in Mobile App

Hi,

I was setting up my new Xbox One S.

It asked to update to latest firmware.

During the installation process, it asked me to download the Xbox app which I did on my iPhone X.

It showed a website address, I think it was http://aka.ms/xboxsetup and a CODE that I should use later.

I did not write this CODE down and it disappeared after a few minutes !!!

After I downloaded my Xbox app, the first box on the Welcome screen is SET UP YOUR NEW XBOX ONE.

Click it and is asks for a CODE !!!

Since the code disappeared during the installation process, and no one asked me to WRITE IT DOWN else I LOSE IT(!), I now HAVE NO CODE ... HELP !!!

The app says: "Let's get started. Enter the code from the console update screen. (This setup option isn't available for all consoles.) I had the CODE and it disappeared on me!

How can I find the code again? I have tried to factory reset the Xbox twice but seems all data is lost but the updated firmware remains updated, hence I need not "update" after a factory reset. This was not the case when I first got the unit as it had
to update the firmware.

Please help. Where can I find this code? And what does it really do for the app or the console?

Is your console connected to the internet and everything? I remember I had a strange thing like this too when I connected my console to my phone's app (it doesn't matter which device, the Xbox Companion App connection process is pretty much the same I think)

If you cannot find the game from the store in your console, you can try download the Xbox app for a mobile device. You can then link the mobile device to your Xbox. You can download and install games from your mobile device to your Xbox console.

Hi Florence_2020, thanks for your question. I'm happy to help.

Open the app. If you’re a new app user, select Set up a console. If you’ve already signed in to the app, select the Console icon in the upper right corner of the home screen, and select Set up a console.

Enter the code you were given on the Set up with the Xbox app screen.

You can skip the option of setting up the console with the app and just sign in and set it up on the console directly.

To resync the app, you just need to reinstall it on your mobile phone and start the process again.
