Console restart on one specific game.

I purchased The Witcher 3 on release day. Installed the game, watched the cinematics, got excited and then witnessed my game crash and the console restart itself. So I tried again. A few times.

I uninstalled the game, hard reset the Xbox, left it unplugged and tried again. Same results occurred, thinking I had a faulty disc I returned it, bought a replacement from elsewhere and tried again the next day.

I have attempted somewhere in the region of 25-30 uninstalling and reinstalling the game. Each time with hard resets, unplugs of power brick etc. I get the crash at one of the same points without fail. Either on the Gerault in the bath cut scene if I let
that play, or if I quickly skip it the game will crash if I attempt to talk to Yennifer, get the key and walk downstairs (which activates another cut scene) or walk to the window and look outside in the first room.

So I returned that copy as well and asked a friend who has been playing the game to bring his around. Today we have tried 6 more times, same result at any of the above points.

To repeat, the game does not hang at a loading screen, it causes my XBox One to reboot itself. Every time.

This is the only game that causes any problems with my console. I have played Campaigns or multiplayer games of Cod Ghosts, Cod AW, BF4, BF Hardline, Destiny, Madden 15 and GTA without problem, some of them over the past week I have uninstalled and reinstalled
to be able to play problem free

So, to quick list attempted solutions...

Multiple Power Cycles 40-50

Multiple Re installs 20+

3 separate game discs

2 different power bricks

with and without kinect

both online and offline

on two different profiles

factory reset of the console

I am at a complete loss as to why this one game is causing my Xbox to behave in this way. I can't find any people that have had the same problem. If anyone could shed any light as to why this is happening I would be most grateful!

Where does this error pop-up? Is this within a specific game, or a specific section of the Xbox One dashboard? Can both of you try a

Factory Restore on your Xbox One console, selecting 'Reset and keep my games & apps'? Is there a specific

 

Sorry to hear your having this problem. Try this.

1. Go to Settings

2. Go to System

3. Click on Clear Local Saved Games (This only deletes data off console. Game data will Sync when you open game)

4. Xbox will restart after clearing data

5. Open Game (Data should Sync and Games will now work)

 

Shoulda added that to my list of attempted solutions!!! I cleared the local save data a few times before I went the whole factory reset route!

 

Extra update...

Also tried installing the game without the disc, then borrowing the disc again to try and play. That didn't work either. Think that rules out a disc drive error.
