Console repair screw up and Xbox support disappointment.

Not really sure if this is the right place for this, but I need to get this out.

Recently my xbox disk drive started acting up, so I sent it in for repairs in late October. November 6th I get an email that my system has been repaired and shipped back to me. Great! Just in time for the holiday wave of games. A week and a half later,
my system hasn't arrived and the tracking number provided doesn't work. I talk to xbox support and they say don't worry, it will be there in 2 days (the 18th), we promise. 3 days go by and still no system. I contact xbox support once again, they say the
console has been shipped but FedEx hasn't activated the tracking yet, so call them and find out the status of your system.

I call FedEx and they say they haven't even received my system from the repair center yet. Call Xbox support for the 3rd time and ask again what is going on. "Oh, sorry, yea its been sitting in our warehouse ready to be sent out, but the storm is causing
problems and delays with shipping." The storm is in the North East, the repair center is in Texas and I live in Seattle... the storm is not an issue for either of these locations nor the rout that it would take!! Finally the system gets sent out on the 19th
with an ETA of the 25th... almost 3 weeks later than Xbox told me the system would be sent out.

Xbox support lied to me twice about the status of my system and made inaccurate excuses as to why it wasn't sent out. After arguing with someone at support, they offered 2 months of xbox live, 1 month makes up for the month I lost during this time. An extra
month cost what, $6? That doesn't make me feel better about the poor support and customer service provided to me this past month.

The Xbox One is now a year old and friends are getting codes for free games and getting to play Sunset Overdrive for free, a title I was looking forward to getting my hands on. But due to this major screw up on the repair centers side, I am missing out
on more than just a month of Xbox live. I know Xbox can make this a more positive experience, but so far refuses to own up to their mistakes and mend the situation.

lol, keep commenting stuff like this, it makes me laugh.

Talk about entitled losers, its an electronic, if you have been with Microsoft since day one (everyone says this) then you know ALL first wave consoles screw up.

Happens to Xbox, PSN & Nintendo.

Get off your high horse and call support so then can repair it.

Unfortunately your DVD drive has failed and is in need of repair. The clicking sound is probably the laser carriage being stuck and not moving on the thumb screw. You can contact Microsoft support to schedule a repair, which I believe runs between $80 and
$120 for an out of warranty console. We cannot offer any self repair advice in these forums, nor would I recommend it. It is cheaper to do it online than over the phone, here is the link:
