Console Registration Error

Greetings,

When I try to registered my gamer tag. I received a message saying "Sorry, this console has already been registered to a different account." How do I fix this issue?

Xbox One Preview Program Troubles

Hi, I downloaded the app but I get a registration error message, is there a way I can chafe the registration of my console so I use the preview app. Regards Frank.

You may have to call up the support line for this one. Sounds like someone else has registered your console, so for xbox to change that they will probably need to go through some security checks with you first

Yeah that sounds like something you need to take care of ASAP. Unless you bought a refurbished or used Xbox it should have a completely clean serial number. One thing I would suggest is make sure your serial number on the sticker under your console is the
same as the one displayed when you check your console serial in the menu options. This could effect future warranty claims so it's probably important for you.

Did the physical number and the digital numbers indeed match? Official support should give you a response tomorrow as Dena said, I'd just verify my console serial number any way possible to make sure something didn't get swapped. Did you buy your console
from an official retailer?

I'm trying to think what would make this happen and thinking if you got it from someplace like Wal-Mart or Best Buy etc. They aren't as careful with returns sometimes and someone may have returned a different console then they bought and it was just put
back on the shelf. This however is pure speculation, just brainstorming. Maybe try going to the Xbox enforcement site and finding the console check option. You can put in your consoles id and find out if there was any history of action against that console.
Its normally used to check second hand consoles to make sure they're not console banned but if it was owned by someone else it may get you some info.

 

I've been having system errors all afternoon saying contact xbox customer service but still nothing

 

i have been talking to the xbox support staff for an hour know but they said it's something to do with the preview program

To clarify are you referring to registering to the Preview Program or registering your console on the Online Service Center? If you're referring to the Preview Program it sounds like another account on your console has been enrolled and accepted the Preview
Program on your console. Did you purchase your console new or used?
