Console randomly makes disc insert sound

Over the past week, I've noticed that my console will now randomly spin the Blu-Ray drive as if it is trying to pull in a disc into the drive. It makes the 1-2 second disc insert sound and then stops. This happens when I shut down or start up the console
(which it never did before), but now it happens randomly while playing a game or just letting it sit. I do notice that if I keep a disc in the system, it never happens. So it knows there is a disc in there and doesn't try to accept a further disc. It's almost
like there is something by the disc insert slot that is tripping the insert function. Does anyone else have this happen? I'm going to try a system reset when I get an external hard drive to move all of my digital games onto. Thanks for any info you can provide.

Is it me or do you have to put the game disc in correctly or

Iv noticed if you don't correctly line disc up before insert in either doesn't go in or makes a horrid sound trying to go in..

Is anyone having problems with the game disc not being read in the xbox one?

Are the discs it can't read in good condition?

Does your Xbox One make a clicking [clunking] sound when you insert a disc?

Call customer support. You will have to get your Xbox fixed sadly. Do it now before your warrenty expires. A lot of people are having issues like this.

For me, my xbox only plays DVDs not, will not play games or Blu ray movies. I talked to the online rep, through chatting. He tried to help me out, spent over 2 hours, and told me it has to be repaired. After that, I hear the grinding noise. So you better
call so they can repair your xbox before it gets worse.

Um mine makes a simluar sound when i first insert it, ive found if the disc is perfectly flat and even when inserting it, it doesnt make that sound. So it may just be how its designed. Try making sure it perfectly horizonatal when inserting it and see
if it makes the sound. Never heard it when removing the disc. I think it may be normal, mine isnt that loud and kinda just sounds like the case rattleing a little. If yours is like mine it does work correctly doesnt it?

the disc drive in the replacement xbox one console i received from microsoft makes a whirring noise when inserting a disc... only while it is accepting the disc. sounds like it might be the motor that pulls the disc inside the drive. anyone having any issues
with this?

It is completely normal to hear noticeable sounds when inserting a disc, these noises increase when the console is installing the contents of the disc.

You should not have any concerns if the console is working properly and no sounds are produced at a distance of one or two meters when there is no disc inserted in the console.
