  1. Console Power & Set Top Box Connection Troubleshooting

Since the update, I am having trouble with the set top box connection or power from the xbox one console. When the console is off, it automatically reboots my cable box. What this does is cut off all DVR recordings through the box. Renders DVR usage on
other sets useless. Have no difficulty watching Live TV when the xbox one console is on. Its business as usual. Only problem is when the system is turned off. Ran the the box direct to the TV and problem is not the cable box. Switched out the HDMI cable and
the problem occurs with each cable.

Anyone run into this problem? Currently have xbox and cable box running into different inputs so my recordings aren't effected. Would appreciate any guidance.

    Thanks.

    :)

wtaching tv on xbox one s problems

Your set-top box may need to be reset to clear out incorrect configuration data. Disconnect any cables—including power—from the device for 30 seconds or more, and then plug them back in.

If you use an over-the-air (OTA) set-top box, check to ensure your HD antenna is connected and working properly. The Xbox One can only display what the set-top box sends it, so poor audio reception from
the antenna will come through on your console.

Some set-top boxes have other settings that may impact audio output. How to check them varies from manufacturer to manufacturer, but in general you want to be sure your box is outputting digital audio,
is set to the correct surround-sound option for your equipment, and is not in any other way restricted.

Contact your hardware provider for assistance in configuring your set-top box.

Xbox s powering up but not displaying on my TV . I have tried multiple HDMI cables but no solution. It is not even connecting to my laptop display. Pls help

HI. My name is Brilliant and I am happy to assist you today.

Here are a few tips you can try to troubleshoot your issue:
    1. Check your HDMI cables or try different ones. You can skip this, since you've already tried that.
    2. Power cycle your set-top box, and then check its settings.
    3. Power cycle your console.
    4. Directly connect the set-top box to your TV.

For more details on the above kindly visit: https://support.xbox.com/help/hardw...eck your HDMI,different high-speed HDMI cable

I hope this helps resolve your query.

I found this link for you too https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/live-tv/poor-video-performance

Solution 1: Check your HDMI cables or try a different one

A damaged or incorrectly connected HDMI cable can prevent the video signal from reaching your Xbox One correctly.

    • Check your HDMI cables to make sure they’re securely connected to your devices and free from damage.
    • Try using a different high-speed HDMI cable. Some cables are higher quality than others, and a low-quality cable can impact your video signal.
Solution 2: Power cycle your set-top box, and then check its settings

    • You may need to power cycle your cable set-top box to clear out incorrect configuration data. To do this, disconnect any cables (including power cables) from the device for 30 seconds or more. Then plug the cables back in.
    • Try restarting the TV app.
    • Try setting your cable set-top box to a video output of 720p.
    • Disable multichannel surround sound (such as Dolby Digital or 5.1).
Note Some cable set-top boxes have other settings that may impact video output. Set-top boxes vary greatly between manufacturers. If you need help checking or configuring your set-top box,
    contact your hardware provider.

Solution 3: Power cycle your Xbox One

To correctly power cycle your Xbox One, follow the steps at How to power cycle your Xbox One console.

    XBOX Digital TV Tuner..

Make sure you have the set top box connected via HDMI. It should go HDMI from the set top box into the Xbox, then HDMI out to the TV. Make sure you select the correct provider, channel plan, and area (if applicable). Also, make sure the set top box is
powered on. Some devices may not be supported as well, like a DTA (Digital Tuning Adaptor) which is a very small version of a cable box over say, a DVR or HD Digital set top box. Let me know if that helps or not. I may be able to come up with something
else if I know a little more about your set up.

Xbox One X Latest Update Causing Sound Distortion/Compression Problems

This could be another solution to your troubleshooting:

Solution 3: Check how your devices are connected

A good rule of thumb with home theaters is to keep things as simple as you can. In this case, that means using HDMI to plug your set-top box directly to your Xbox One, and your Xbox One directly to your TV.

You also might want to remove any unnecessary devices. HDMI or optical switches, audio-video receivers, converter boxes, and other devices can cause the signal to degrade with each additional pass-through.
You can also try removing devices one at a time to see if one in particular is causing the performance problem

Solution 4: Check your set-top box

Your set-top box may need to be reset to clear out incorrect configuration data. Disconnect any cables—including power—from the device for 30 seconds or more, and then plug them back in.

If you use an over-the-air (OTA) set-top box, check to ensure your HD antenna is connected and working properly. The Xbox One can only display what the set-top box sends it, so poor audio reception from the
antenna will come through on your console.

Some set-top boxes have other settings that may impact audio output. How to check them varies from manufacturer to manufacturer, but generally, be sure your box is outputting digital audio, is set to the correct
surround-sound option for your equipment, and isn’t restricted in any other way.

Contact your hardware provider for assistance in configuring your set-top box.

Try this and let us know if that clears up the sound.
