Console power issues since update

It's been an issue for some people since a recent update. Try plugging the controller into the console and performing a hard reset (hold the power button down for 10 seconds until the console turns off, unplug the power cord for the console, plug it back
in and turn it back on)

Alright all of you who are still experiencing the "black screen" issue please try these steps:

1. Power Cycle your console. To do this you need to hold the power button your console for 10 seconds which will clear your system cache (No you will not lose any of your actual data) then power on you console.

2. Make sure your console is update to the most current dashboard update: "xb_rel_1403.140301-2200) fre"

If the problems persist I would report it to Xbox Support via there telephone number. I personally was experiencing this issue and has since not had it once since the console update. I hope this helps and happy gaming

There seems to be an issue since the update this has happened to me a few times, usually after pressing the xbox button on my controller. Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds to restart the console and this should work.

Thanks for your update. Since you mentioned your Xbox One S is powering off at random, there could be an issue with it's internal power supply. To test this, check out this article:

By the way... I've only had an Overheating - Two Light RROD & one E74 Error, when I first bought the Falcon console... Firmware Update fixed these Issues & I have not seen any RROD since.. I also updated to a Power-Surge Protected Power Brick too.. (OC21B520686820)
