Console not turning off/slow green flashing light

I recently starting using the CLOUD storage feature for game saves and came upon a unique ans strange problem with my BOX.

After turning the console off, I found that the fan was still running and the center light was slowly flashing green as if it was downloading. the console remained on for several hours and was generating heat the entire time!

the only way I could stop the console doing this was to disable auto downloads and
stop using the CLOUD storage for game saves.

Note If an indicator light flashes green other times, such as when the console is turned off, you may need to request a console repair.

Xbox 360 power brick won't cut off

Hey there Dart,

Hassassinade is correct, your console will sync cloud storage saves in a low power mode after you turn your console off.

It works similar to the background downloads and you'll see a
Flashing green light on your Xbox console power button.

It is not a "problem" it is a feature.

This could be 1 of two things as you know. It is updating/uploading or downloading your information to the cloud.

It could also be your system cooling down. It is not an issue

Hey Sablefun, there are a couple reasons why your Green Light is flashing.

1. The green console light will flash slowly when downloading in the background while it is off.

Reason: After you turn off the console, the console enters a low-power mode. The center of the power button on the console flashes green every four seconds until the download is completed. The other lights around the power button are off, and no images are
displayed on your monitor or television.

If you want your console to shut down immediately and not continue to download content in the background, you can turn off the background download option.

2. The System, is cooling down. That explains itself.

Start this off with the console turned OFF, and the controller turned OFF

Press and hold the Xbox Guide button in the middle of your wireless controller until the green light flashes.

Turn on your Xbox 360 console. Press and hold the connect button next to the memory card ports on the front of your console.

Press and hold the connect button on the top of your wireless controller. Use the controller with your console once the green flashing lights on both units cease spinning.
