So my console will load up and show the "Hi!" message, but the screen remains completely blank as if it is unable to actually load, when I hold down the home button the "turn of console and controller" options are there but if I
close that there's nothing else I can actually do. It's not an issue with the TV or connection as the screen does show some stuff, the console itself just won't load past the "hello" screen.

    :)

  2. Xbox not starting up properly

When I turn the box on it will stay on the "Xbox Startup Screen" and will not load the dashboard. It can take up to 2 minutes for the dash to appear. If I have the internet already plugged in it will not load at all. When I get to the dash any attempt to
connect to live will hardlock the box. Trying to clear cache won't do anything. If I can get a game to load and start gameplay the box will hardlock each time it trys to access the memory on the box. Autosave causes hardlock as well as any loading a new map
on the game. Halo 3 multiplayer on live will work fine once the game loads. my dash, friends list, or any other xbox features on the system itself will not work. when i tried to play dead island it would load the game off disc tray open/close. the game takes
about 5 minutes to load the main menu. it takes about another 5 minutes just to choose to select the memory unit. once the game loads it will allow me to play until i complete a quest or load a new map like inside a building. then the xbox hardlocks and will
not resume play or allow any other functions. I've tried to unplug everything let it sit and try again but that doesn't help. Any Ideas?

This is indeed a very unusual situation. I think there is a problem with the system software on your console. It may be corrupted or damaged. You should consider requesting a repair via the Official Xbox Website about this matter.

    Heya!

    We would recommend running through
    the blank screen troubleshooter.
Be sure to try every step even if you have tried it before.

If all of the steps on the guide fail to work out let's have you reset the console with the following steps:

    1. Hold down the power button on the front of your Xbox One console until it fully powers down, unplug the power cord, and wait 30 seconds. Please note the console must be fully powered
down; the next steps will not work if the console is powered on from connected standby.

    2. Plug the power cord back in.

    3. PRESS the POWER Button then Hold down the Bind button (located on the side of the console next to the USB port) and the Eject button (located on the front of the console next to the
optical disc slot), continue holding down Bind and Eject until you hear a second “power up” chime.

    4. Then SELECT Reset this Xbox - This Troubleshooter takes the User to a page that allows you to select full reset or reset but keep content (this allows you to keep your installed games
    and settings!)

Post back and let us know how that goes!

Xbox One not starting up properly

Hello, My name is Jesse. I'm an Independent Advisor and a member of the Microsoft community and I'd love to assist you today.

    - Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.

    - Wait 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord back in.

    - Press and hold the Pair button (located on the left side of the console) and the Eject button (located on the front of the console), and then press the Xbox button on the console.

    - Continue holding the Pair and Eject buttons for 10-15 seconds.

    - Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the Pair and Eject buttons after the second power-up tone.

    - The console should power up and take you directly to the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter.

If your console doesn't have an Eject button, you can bring up the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter on this console by holding only the Pair button (steps 3 & 4) and then pressing the Xbox button. Continue holding the Pair and Eject buttons for 10-15 seconds.

    - Once you see the Startup Troubleshooter, select Factory Reset and then choose "Keep Games and Apps"

    - Once the Reset is complete, you'll be prompted to sign into your console using your Microsoft account credentials, after which you'll choose your preferred settings and your console should display normally again.

NB: A factory reset keeping games and apps will not delete your game saves as they are backed up in the cloud and will resync once you've signed in.

    Hope this helps.

    Jesse.
