  1. Console not recognising the external storage device after the update.

I'm a preview member. I received an update at about 6:50 pm PST on Nov 6th 2015, after the update my console is not recognizing any external storage device. I have tried all the steps suggest on support page (Troubleshoot External Storage Drive Detection | Xbox One External Storage)
with no success. If I plug my wireless controller (without the batteries) into the usb port, the controller works like a normal wired controller. The issue is only with the storage devices.

    Please advice.

    :)

Unable to download Diablo 3 ROS from marketplace

Ok, thanks for the reply. External USB storage only allows up to 32 GB per storage device. Whatever other items you have on your external drive will subtract for that. It is quite possible that you do not have enough space as the internal storage of the
Slim consoles is only 4 GB which, after system installs and updates, would only equal out to slightly over 2 GB.

Can't connect to xbox live. i've tried everything..

HI there! The error code 8007045D refers to your update not working due to a storage device not found. To fix this, just follow these simple steps:

    1. Turn off your console.

    2. Remove your console's storage device, including the flash drive and hard drive, both external and internal.

    3. Add the primary storage device. This should be the hard drive.

    4. Turn on the console.

    5. Try the update again.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi

As long as the external hard drive meets the standards below then it should work for storing games.

If the console is switched on when you first plug the drive in it should recognise it and offer you the option to format the drive for games storage.

"The basic requirements for storing games and apps on an external drive are:

Has capacity of 256 GB or more, and

    Uses USB 3.0.

Devices that don’t meet these requirements will be treated as media storage, such as for music or video. If you have a storage device that does meet these requirements for game and app storage, you can cancel the format to use it as a media device."

How do I fix error 0x80830003

Hello, I'm Felipe and I'm an independent Community Expert, and I'll do my best to help you.

Error 0x80830003 is a common error code on the Xbox Series X that can occur when saving data to an external storage device. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this issue:

Restart the console: Sometimes, simply restarting the console can resolve the issue.

Remove and re-insert the external storage device: This can help refresh the connection between the console and the external hard drive.

Format the external storage device: If the external hard drive is not formatted properly, it can cause the error 0x80830003. To format the external hard drive, go to the Xbox settings, then select "System," followed by "Storage." Locate the external hard drive and select "Format Storage Device."

Update your Xbox console: Make sure your Xbox Series X is up-to-date with the latest software update.

Check for any software or firmware updates for the external storage device: Contact the manufacturer of the external storage device to see if there are any updates available.

If these steps do not resolve the error 0x80830003, you may want to consider contacting Xbox support for further assistance.

    External hard drive help

When you connect a compatible external storage drive, Xbox One will prompt you to format the drive and walk you through setting it up to store games and apps.

The basic requirements for storing games and apps on an external drive are:

Has capacity of 256 GB or more and

    Uses USB 3.0.

Devices that don’t meet these requirements will be treated as media storage, such as for music or video. If you have a storage device that does meet these requirements for game and app storage, you can cancel the format to use it as a media device.

If your console doesn’t recognise your external drive, see Troubleshoot external storage detection on Xbox One.

If you cancel the format when you connect the storage device, you can still set it up as a storage device later. Here's how:

Scroll left from the Home screen to open the guide.

    Select Settings.

    Select All Settings.

Select System, and then select Storage.

Select your storage device, and then select Format for games & apps.
