Console not Powering up

Hello all, my console received an update and next morning it would not power up. i push the button and it makes the chime, the light comes on for half a second, then nothing. orange light on the power brick is on, when button pressed it turns white, then
orange. I've seen on the web where hundreds of people are having the same issue but haven't found a sure fix. I'm 2 months over warranty and paid $500 for this now "boat anchor". Somebody some where knows what the issue is, and how to fix it. I can't see
paying $135 and waiting 14-21 days with no guaranty it wont happen again. Some sort of answers would be great.

Hi daft badger...I was told to include the reference by Alex on the xbox live chat. He told me to post this on here, i hear what your saying, however I still do not feel this is reasonable. If you have a valuable customer, you look after them. This is good
Karma and business etiquette. to have a blanket statement for every customer no matter what is not only wrong, but also detrimental to a business overall.

As i said, Alex (from xbox support chat) told me to post this problem and include the reference to this on the post. I am doing as I was advised..

I do appreciate your advice however, I do feel however, after purchasing a new power brick to find it is not that, the cost I will have to pay is more than a replacement console! how is this reasonable????

It does sound like your console needs to be repaired & if it's out of warrenty you will have to pay £65 to have it repaired.

Doesn't matter how much you've spent on msp,accounts etc in the past you still have to pay for an out of warrenty repair,it's the same for everyone.

 

Seeing as the power brick is in a "standby" state (orange light) it should be safe to try this - have you tried unplugging the power brick from the wall AND from the back of the console for 5 minutes? This will allow the surge protector inside the power
brick to reset itself. At that point, plug back in and try starting up to see if the issue recurs.

tried everything. even factory reset. been *** with this thing for days. just paid and ill ship tomorrow
