    So my Xbox one is being straight up weird. one night after gaming i got a message that my games would not start up properly (i tried a few different ones). that was not a big deal because i was just hopping off. next day, i power
    up, and my xbox is not connected to the internet, but it says that its connected via ethernet (it is most certainly not). after troubleshooting that by power cycling the xbox, i ran in to an issue with my controller not being able to sync, even while connected
    by USB. same thing with my external 2tb hard drive. there has been no signs of an issue with my console until this moment and before you ask, i've pretty much done every sort of troubleshooting method possible. it seems that my console just cant find its way
    in space. it wont connect to wifi, wont find my controller and wont find my hard drive( which by he way is plugged into the back). i"m struggling, any advice? could it be a software issue?

    G'day Boomer, When the Xbox One console doesn't appear in your Add Device window, have you been through the troubleshooting guide by clicking "Not finding what you are looking for?"

    If you are wireless can you also state whether you are using the white or black external adapter or the Xbox 360S Internal adapter

    Thank you so much XBF Eladio M, for taking time to reply to my query.

    I formatted the storage, went back to the network connection. This time it responded yo the update, but after a while “Update Failed” message came up.

    Hey Mishra

    Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums.

    When you state unformatted, this leads me to believe that you are trying to
    troubleshoot an Xbox 360 hard drive    .

    If you’re using a non-Microsoft hard drive, the device may appear as “unformatted” and prompt you to format the hard drive. Try disconnecting your hard drive and then reconnecting it to see if that solves the problem.

    If this does not do the trick, we would have to procceed to formatting the hard drive.
    This can be done by highlighting the hardrive in Storage and pressing the "Y" button for
    Device options and you can select to format the drive there.

    Give this a try and let us know if it works for you!
