  1. Console not detecting disc in drive already

It seems to only happen with Titanfall. I can't recall if it happened with Forza 5, maybe once or twice. Almost every time I turn on my xbox one and select Titanfall (from the disc tile on the home page), it says that I need to visit the store, cancel, or
help. The disc is in perfect condition, and I do not get an error code. So every time I want to play, I have to go to the console, eject the disc, then put it back in to play.

    :)

  2. CD Drive Noise?

You'll never have a 100% silent disc drive when it is reading data from the disc. As long as it is still reading/detecting the disc fine and not a loud grinding noise, I wouldn't worry about it.

Hmm, a clicking noise...could be the hard drive.

USB 3.0 Drive... Can I use it to transfer an installed game from one Xbox One console to another?

If the disc drive is faulty then you may still have issues even with the game installed on an external drive.

The disc still needs to be read to verify it when you first put the disc into the console.

I've had faulty disc drives that would not play disc copies of games even though they were already installed.

Xbox 360 backwards compatibility (For Xbox One)

    Just to cover all bases:

In order to be able to play a disc based Xbox 360 game, the console has to be able to detect the security sector of the disc to know which game it is. Then the console has to download the game from the Xbox Marketplace.

The disc in your drive is just a "proof of purchase", while the complete game is played off the console's hard drive after the download.

So make sure that the console is able to detect the disc properly by checking that the console shows the game tile with a disc icon under the main game tile on the Home screen.

If the game doesn't show up with a disc icon, it's possible that the console doesn't detect the disc correctly.

Remove the disc from the disc drive, and hold the Xbox button on the console for about 10 seconds. After the console has shut down, press the power button again to turn the console back on, and make sure the console shows a green boot screen during startup.

Since this "cold boot" takes a while, take the disc to your kitchen, and apply a small drop of mild dishwasher soap to the silver side of the disc.

Using wet fingers, "massage" the soap around the silver side of the disc, until the whole silver surface is covered in foam.

Rinse the disc under running water, then shake the disc to get the water off.

Wipe the remaining drops with a soft, lint-free cloth.

Return to the console that should have finished booting now, and insert the disc again.

If the disc still isn't detected, check if other discs are detected by your console. If other discs work, check if your Lost Odyssey disc works in a different console. If the disc can't be detected in a different console, your disc is defective.

You could try to give your disc to a video rental store (if they still exist) or an electronics store that buys used games, and ask them if they could polish the disc for you, and hope it'll work.

Disc destroyed by Xbox one S

The Xbox One only reads from the disc when you install the game, and then only a security sector to check if you still "own" the game.

As long as the console detects the disc being present, all other data is loaded from the console's hard drive (or the external USB drive if you installed the game on an external drive).

If the console is able to detect the disc, you can even go to the Xbox Store, and download the game, if the disc is damaged and unreadable (with the exception of the security sector, that HAS TO be readable).

Should the console not detect the disc (but other discs work), try the following: Take the disc to the kitchen, and apply a small drop of mild dishwasher soap on the silver side on the disc. Then, with wet fingers, "massage" the soap all around the disc
in a spiraling motion. When the whole silver side is covered in soap, rinse it off under running water.

Now hold the disc with a finger in the center hole and only on the edge. Shake the disc several times to get the water off, and wipe the remaining drops with a soft, lint-free cloth.

If the disc is detected now, congratulations. If not, do as Blueamcat says and contact Rockstar Games support for a disc exchange.

This worked! As soon as I cleaned my disk, it loaded right up! Thank you!
