Console Language

Hello,

I just got an Xbox one the other day and was excited but after Installing it I found out that if I set the language to English I can only choose between a select few countries like Australia, Canada, USA and GB. When I put in my location, which is Germany
I am forced to take German as a language. If I choose English and say I am in America the console tells me it is not in USA but in another location and switches automatically back to German.

This is really annoying and while I do understand German, I would like to read and listen to English.

The Xbox 360 allowed me to have my wanted settings and I am surprised the One won't let me.

Console language

Which country do you live in? When you change the region of your console or gamertag to a different country you will have issues with purchasing and downloading items.

I want my console to be in English. Period.

Unfortunately, Microsoft decided that, in the country I live, English should not be available. So I switch my account to the US just for that (I don't care about which games/music/videos are available in the US marketplace). Now I have all sorts of problems
with apps that are told I'm in the US and detect that I'm not. Plus my credit card stopped working too (not from the US).

I just want my console to be in English so I can play games in English. I don't want the lame translations and I don't need them. Is it too hard? Isn't the English content all available already? What's the trouble?

This does seem to be a heavily requested option and I'm sure it will become available in the near future.

Try this:

Create a New live/Outlook account and choose USA as location/country, not Germany. add the new account to your x1 and change location with the new ACC.

I've call support several times cuz I'm in the same boat they said I'm save with change my account location to USA. But now I have to wait 3 month to change it back :/ that's the reason I suggests to create a new account to try! (if it's still possible)

xbox.uservoice.com/.../6028840-don-t-region-lock-the-languages as Microsoft collects feedback and suggestions on future improvements there.
