    Console keeps on freezing


    I have an old Xbox 360. I believe it is one of the first gens as it does not have a HDMI-port.

    I have updated the firmware and have been playing mainly Fifa 17 and my daughter Infinity. However the console keeps on freezing.

    The picture will just freeze and no buttons work, only thing possible is to press the power-button to turn off the console. There is no ROD.

    I've tried to wipe the harddrive cache, format the harddrive, disconnect the harddrive, disconnect internet, disconnect peripherals, change screen resolution but nothing has helped. The freeze happens with both games played from disc and harddrive-only.
    Thinking it might be overheating I've placed it in a more ventilated place and have opened it but it was practically dust-free already.

    The only clue I've got is that the freezing seems to happen with 3D-intense games and never in game menus (then again, most time is spent in 3D). Also, the freeze usually happens 5-10 minutes after powering on.

    Sometimes days will pass without a freeze and sometimes it will keep freezing 5 minutes after every restart.

    I don't know what else I could try to stop this from happening. Any ideas here?

    i bought my xbox 360 slim 250gb about 2 years ago. and all of a sudden yesterday it kept freezing. i couldnt even get to the dashboard it freezes when the xbox logo pops up. when the xbox logo begins to appear and does its spinning thing, the shadows under
    the logo keep flashing and are really glitchy then it jsut freezes, sometimes with the logo just frozen other times just as a white screen. ive tried everything any suggestions? and could this have been caused by overheating or something?

    Is your one the 4gb Slim model ? if so i had the same problem with mine you can bypass it but it takes a while you will have to send it in for repairs .

    During the launch this console it had many problems, Almost all were hardware defections and failures, i would take it to a repair shop to get it evaulated and if there is any problems attempt to fix it. You may also have a broken HDMI port which causes
    you to have no signal to the TV.
