Good evening. Everyone I'm currently having an issue with my Xbox One experience a black screen when I turn Cortana off also most of my games are taking too long to start and my apps are taking too long to start as well is there anyway I can fix this I have
already done 6 power Cycles on my console and nothing has worked I've also reset my internet and nothing has worked for that either is there any way I can have this fixed

I appreciate the answer. I did some quick browsing and it seems to be a corrupted profile. It has been suggested I redownload my profile.

Is completely unacceptable the way that this update is causing Xbox ones to act. Xbox should have put a hold on this update for bugs/problem such as this problems that cameras around the world have been experienced for over two days now I understand that
this is a very new update for Xbox but come on you should at least provide a response of the bugs that we are experiencing I mean not being able to update without having a black screen in front of us over and games not loading or joining party's I do believe
xbox well eventually get hold of this problem and fix it but as for now I'm kind of regretting buying an Xbox One

Sorry to hear about the issues. Since you've mentioned that you have
Power Cycled your Xbox One console several times already, let's move onto the next recommendation: Performing a

Factory Restore of your console. Please note that there are two methods of doing this. One method is a complete wipe and you will begin from scratch. The other option allows you to keep your games and apps. Please try this option first.

Give that a shot and let us know how it goes!

 

I'm sick of updates! 3 days in a row. I only get on to play a game, don't care for all the extras, especially music or other apps. wished I could get rid of them all, waste of space.

Thanks to everyone that commented to this theard . I got my xbox fix due to factory restore. A special big thanks to Miss Bijoux for telling me about the factory reset. Thank you everyone

I don't know if it was the update or not it probably was but every time now I go to turn my xbox on I get a black screen I did all the
[MOD REMOVED - Forum Guidelines ] steps they tell you and still nothing is happening I had to hard reset my xbox one like 30 times already and doing the same steps and nothing. I havent tried the offline update but that'll be a waste of time
because it doesn't bring up the picture when I turn my console on and I'm getting
[MOD REMOVED - Forum Guidelines ] about it. It's been happening for days now.

 

I tried a factory restore but it went back to working poorly 20 minutes later. Correct me if I'm wrong but a factory restore shouldn't be needed after an update. No?

Your issues sound different than that or the original poster. We always recommend a Console Refresh, which is a Factory Reset minus reinstalling games and apps. When issues like you're seeing don't work.

In JMAN's case, we'd suggest this guide which can help with
Black Screen Troubleshooting.

If the steps don't work, please create a new thread so the community can help with with your specific issue.
