Console is suddenly switching power on and off multiple times.

Hello,

I got my box since a few days and first all works fine, but since two days the console suddenly restarts mutliple times. During play or in the Home-screen the screen turns black an the box starts to play the on and off sounds cicra 10 times an then it restarts
to the system.

I doublechecked the PowerSupply and tried to place it at cooler place. But the problem is still not solved.

Perhaps I should say that I use a
Harmony remote. Possibly it might have something
to do with it?

Does anyone know the problem and maybe
a solution?

xbox 360s turns on and off randomly

I have an xbox 360s which is about 15 months old, today it wouldn't switch off using the touch pad so had to switch off using controller. tried switching back on but would only work by opening and closing disc drawer. console then switched itself off
and then back on a couple of times. Console then switched on and was able to play game for a couple of hours, so finished game and switched off console. the power brick was plugged in and turned on, the console then suddenly started switching itself on and
off repeatedly so i turned it off at the plug. Can anyone please help as to what the cause is ?

 

Xbox One controller not turning on after attempted Controller Update

So I decided like any other person would to update my controller since it seemed like the right time to do it. During my update the controller suddenly turned off and 10 seconds later, the xbox said that there was an issue with the update. I tried turning
it on multiple times but switching batteries and power cycling did not work. I would like to know if there is a fix for my controller not being able to turn on since I would prefer not having to get a replacement sent.

 

I've been having the same issue actually. to be honest its a little relieving to see I'm not the only one. It will just power on and off at random times on its own no matter what I'm doing. I have yet to find a solution to the problem yet myself. I've had
my Xbox since Day One so it must be some type of software issue if an older console and a newer console are experiencing the exact same thing. I dont use a Harmony remote so I wouldnt consider that to be the root of your problem.

 

Kinect isn't the root too, cause I got none.

Yesterday it tried some diffrent settings. With the "Save Energy"-Setting the box won't start by itself and there are no restarts, but it powers off while playing games from HD. Games who need a disc seem to work. Can your confirm this?

I checked my router to exclude the possibility that "Wake on Lan" has something to do with it, but no change.

Finally I talked to amazon, and the will replace the box asap. Hoping the new one works fine.

But i am very exited to know what the matter of the problem is.

 

People were having an issue with them restarting because of their WiFi somwhow, If your using WiFi try connecting it with a cable instead and see if that make any difference.

It worked for others, but if your not using WiFi i'm not sure. Or make sure you Router does not have the sleep modes enabled since they were somehow shutting off Xbox Ones their connected too.

 

I just switched to the Energy Saving setting so we'll see if I have similar results. I dont think it could be my router/WiFi settings as there are 2 separate Xbox Ones connected to it. Funny thing is the second console doesnt seem to be having any problems
at all. I tried using that 2nd consoles power supply with my Xbox and the problem persisted, so its definitely not a power supply issue. My console is out of warranty I'm afraid so replacing it will cost me.

 

I connected the XBox via Cable not via Wifi, so i think that's not the problem.

My replacement should arrive today. If the problem still exists, it must have something to do with the rest of my setup.

I recognized again, that if i'm playing Forza from disc all works fine with Energy Saving setting on.

 

Also connecting to a power strip will cause you problems so avoid if possible.

 

New Box installed same problem. So it must something else.

 

Playing disc based games with the Energy saving setting on doesnt make a difference for me. Playing Halo: MCC from a disc and it will just turn off on me in the middle of a match. I have tried connecting directly to a wall outlet as opposed to a power strip
and the problem persists. as a matter of fact my Box has been connected to a power strip the entire year that I've had it with no problem until now. The fact that your new box is having the same issue is definitely troubling. I have no clue what else it could
be if not some type of update issue with XBL.
