Console internally flagged as "Do Not Run"

Greetings. I'm not sure if this has been fixed/covered, but, I've talked to three different support representatives, all of whom have been very useful, but, only useful to the point of verifying that I carried out the necessary diagnostic steps that are
posted online(which I found way before I ever called Xbox Customer Service).

So, in short, my console died right around the middle of November. Based on information I found on Xbox.com:

Step 3: Console displays a black screen instead of the green Xbox startup animation

This error can occur in two different scenarios. Please review both scenarios before troubleshooting.

When you start the Xbox One console, you expect to see the green Xbox startup animation screen. During the startup animation, your console runs a full system check on all hardware components, validating the firmware and the operating system. This is very
similar to the way a PC starts. The startup animation screen can take several minutes before transitioning to the next screen. If the system check fails to run the startup animation three times in a row, the console is flagged by the system as “do not run.”
This will block the startup animation from running, and in its place you'll see a black screen.

Back in November, it would display the green screen, and after not progressing(doing hard resets, unplugging everything for a while), it eventually progressed to no longer displaying a green load screen, but just black. No input from the xbox at all. Power
button LED comes on, and "pulses" brighter every 1.5 seconds or so. I've tried every offline diagnostic tool file, including the factory reset...my Xbox won't even recognize that I've got a USB drive in the Xbox with update files...and the only thing every
rep I've talked to so far has confirmed is that it's going to cost me over 100 bucks to get this thing "repaired", when, as far as I'm concerned, this is an issue with MS hardware, MS software, MS updates. I didn't spill water, or knock my console off a table,
or throw my controller through my TV. My device failed me under normal operating circumstances. As a Day One console owner, I'm pretty disappointed that Microsoft has hung me out to dry.

Check Xbox serial number

...

There is no list because a console may be flagged for a ban internally but not banned on the Service yet. Such a list would never be authoritative.

 

Buying used console

Consoles may be flagged for banning at a future time. Microsoft has been known to ban consoles in waves. It is a bad idea to buy a used console as one never knows if the console is flagged to be banned on the next ban wave.
