How can I find the console ID from my old Xbox 360 if it's broken?

Does this mean changing your home console automatically assigns the console licences to the new home console's console ID without the need of using the licence transfer tool?

Also, does this mean if you download a game away from your designated home console, it still gives the licence to the home console's console ID and not the one you download it on that is not set as your home console?Click to expand...

So, reading up about this, it seems the Xbox 360 DRM controls have changed now too, so either console you can change your home console every four months.

You don't need any kind of kit, just go to Xbox.com for your 360, or in the Xbox One dashboard and change your home console.

The one difference I identify between the two systems is the console license on the 360 assigns to the console the game is first downloaded to, whereas the One, it's whatever your home console is regardless of where you download it.

If the X1 uses the same mechanism as the 360 with one licence to the Gamertag and one to the console ID, how does changing the Home Console option affect the console ID licence?

If you mean the serial number then click on Manage My Devices on the Repair page.

The console ID can only be found in the Xbox Dashboard. The console ID is different from the console serial number.

Go to settings and select System.

Select Console Settings.

Select System Info. The console ID is displayed on the screen, below the console serial number (which is also displayed on the screen).

The Xbox 360 console serial number is located in three places:

On the front of the console, behind the oval USB door

On the back of the console, above the A/V port

On the System Info screen in the Xbox Dashboard (along with the console ID, as described in the previous section)

Hello again, I understand that they ask for the console ID and only consoles have ID, either from 360 or One, but in your case as you never had, provide as much information as you can from the form.
