Console hum/buzzing even after recent updates

Hi,

After following the various threads that have already been raised on the infamous XO buzz/hum problem, I had hoped I'd be one of the lucky ones that saw it resolved by the Oct update. I wasn't. It is still very loud and a terrible distraction when playing
films or anything for which I don't use a headset. How do I get it fixed? It is there when in standby (i.e. not fully off), on the dashboard, playing discs and even while games are running (even when there is no disc in the drive) - though, at that point I
usually put headphones on.

Help!

Power brick buzzing

Mine makes a fan noise which could be described as buzzing but I have to go quite close to it to hear it.

The console itself is far louder.

Or are you referring to an electrical hum?

If you can hear a loud electrical hum then it's probably faulty.

 

Post october update noise

Again... I have tried two xbox one kinect Version after update and both same issue no horrible buzzing noise in Dashboard but a low long buzzing if you reset cache of console or unplug the power cord and replug.. After october update nothing change the Buzz
on reset cahe still here... Is normal? Your xbox after update no have any bizzing noise on reset cache!? What are official support position For this!?

 

Bump. This is really killing my sales pitch to the missus that the console isn't just for gaming on ...

Call 1800-4MY-XBOX and ask for an Advanced Replacement, say you have already done the troubleshooting. They will put a 450$ hold on your Credit card but you will recive a new XBOX ONE within 2-4 days took me 2 days for my replacement for a loud Bluray drive/chirping
sounds in standby and the drive not reading some discs. My XBOX ONE Day One Edition was loud since launch, but I decided to wait till their manufacturing got better which I now feel they are now better. My new Xbox one is silent, so much so I decided to buy
a 2nd XBOX ONE for the living room which is also very quite. Once you recive the replacement you will then send your XBOX ONE back to them in the box the replacement came in.

If you don't have access to a credit card, you will have to do a regular replacement which can be started at
Web Server's Default Page, you will need to register your XBOX ONE and then request a replacement on the site to get the process started. Standard replacment, you will have to send you XBOX ONE
in for replacement first which can take upwards of a month and you are not guaranteed a new replacement of yours can't be fixed, it may be refurbished and people have claimed receiving consoles with scratches.

The advanced replacement is then way to go, it's super fast and the XBOX ONE is/looks brand new.

hope this helps, I wouldn't wait for this to be fixed via unsafe as some XBOX ONES dont have this problem thus its a hardware defect they are trying to mask/fix with an update which I would not accept waiting for this to be fixed via an update and risk your
warranty running out.

 

Hi MrGREEK. Many thanks for the reply! MS got in touch after my last bump and when going through the troubleshoot with them I realised it is the power supply, not the console itself, which sadly the Advanced Replacement doesn't cover. Seems I'm just going
to have to do without a working console for a few weeks. Thanks again, though!
