Console harddrive issues

My xbone seems to have trouble recognizing a disk. It could be one I've played for weeks,months or even brand new. By now it's by chance if i get the game to work by loading it in and out until it starts up. Sometimes i get that you need to insert a xbox
one disk msg or sometimes it doesnt even see a disk.

This has been going on since day 1 but it's more noticeable now since I have more games.

Am i able to send my xbox in for repair/maintenance?

Add External Drive to your XBOX

I use a Seagate 6tb external harddrive for my own console. A 4tb harddrive for the bedroom console and my son has a 2tb on his console. Ive had no issues with Seagate and wouldn't go anywhere else

 

Would this Hard Drive work with the regular 2007 360 (Not the Slim)

I would also make sure that you are using the correct harddrive for the console.. I have heard that using like an older harddrive on the s series could cause tampering issues

Sounds more like a disc drive issue rather than a hard drive issue.

 

sorry my brain wasnt working. I meant to say diskdrive not sure why i said harddrive.

 

Ya, you can use the self service site that Ady posted above or you can call support (800-4-MY-XBOX) as well and talk to someone in Hardware and let them know your Optical Disc Drive (ODD) is having a hard time consistently reading discs.

Calling them will give you access to the Advanced Exchange option. It's the fastest option they have to get you a new unit. Other wise you can set up the Single unit repair/Standard Exchange option yourself online.
