Console ghost Turn off and On

From last few days when I started playing on my Xbox, it automatically turns off after few seconds. It's like someone touching the power button, proper ding sound also audible and it again auto starts after few minutes.

Sometimes I need to manually start the console but again it turns off. I have to do this for at least 10-15 times after that console will work perfectly fine.

First I thought my power adapter has some issue but the same thing happening with another adapter too.

Can some one help me before that ghost kills my console?

I tried this idea and it has not worked yet, Im now leaving the xbox for a while after "resetting" the brick

Hi there,

check if there is any dust or something else on the power button. If so please clean it and let us know the results

 

No dust or anything on the power button and I checked after cleaning the power button.

But, no luck at all

 

Is the console directly connected to the wall socket or via a power strip or surge protector? If so please try to see what happens when directly connected to a wall. Also remove any usb devices connected to the console (if there are any)

 

Try this:

-take out the disc

-turn the console off

-unplug every cable

-try cleaning off the power button

-see if you can feel if the power button is stuck when you push it.

Could it be that something watery or anything like that ran between it that keeps bushing the button?

If so take off the faceplate and see if you can wipe it off.

 

@WPAK - Console is directly connected with the wall socket. To make sure the power is properly working or not, I have checked after connecting console to the UPS. But the result is same,

@HaloJolly - I checked the power button and button works only after touch as I'm using Black slim console. So I think nothing stuck between power button. And I'm not feeling comfortable to open faceplate of console.

 

Are there any other devices in the room that could submit a signal to turn the console on or off? Like IR receivers etc?

 

No there are not any devices that could submit a signal to turn the console on or off. But, my console is on the glass table.

 

I was talking about taking the faceplate off not the whole case but that´s okay.

Just since its a touch button it can get stuck when water drops or anything like that or sweat get in there.

I thought its maybe on the side of the button where the faceplate covers it.

Then you would only had to wipe it off with a clean cloth.

But I could be wrong was only a thought sorry if I confused you.
