Console games quality on a PC monitor not good...?

    Hello everyone.

So i have these two PC monitors wich i game my Xbox One on: Asus VG248QE and Asus VX248H wich are both 1080p native.

So, what happens here is the following: On the games that are 1080p native they don't lose quality, games that are 900p or for whatever other reason, they look terrible, they don't upscale like playing on a TV, because if i play on my Samsung SmarTV 40"
all the games look perfect, there's no resolution differences or image quality ...

Is there a way to make the console output the games quality to the monitor as the same as she does for a TV or any other way around this?

    Best regards all!

    :)

    what tv?

Have you considered a monitor I actually use a decent quality Acer PC monitor rather than a t.v, although i have used my T.V as well and it worked fine.

    Minecraft on PC.

HDMI cable to the PC monitor. Done. It's better resolution then the television, also. Once you see your games on better than plasma quality, you'll die, go to game heaven, and never come back.

    Hey Outrag1ous!

To check, are you connecting your Xbox One console directly into these monitors with an HDMI cable or are you using an adapter to connect the two? Adapters aren't officially supported and may cause display issues such as the one you're experiencing.

It may also be worth checking your monitor settings to make sure it doesn't have any video settings that alter the image. Some monitors may stretch or shrink the image depending on what modes are selected.

    Hello.

Yes, both monitors are connected by HDMI. I'm not the only person to say this, i just believe that monitors don't have the same image upscale capabilities that the TV's have.

I've tried all the configs either on the console and TV, and everything remains. I tested a very recent game: Star Wars Battlefront BETA and just like BF4 it looks terrible on my monitors. On the TV it's perfect.

Or the image upscaling capabilities of the Xboe One are not good.

    Hi Outrag1ous,

A monitor usually won't upscale just like a TV. If you've tried all settings and nothing works then there isn't much else to do unfortunately. Try to manually set a 1080p if you're using auto-detect. If no improvement then try the other settings again. If
it's still not working, and it works on TVs no issues, then it's likely there is not a solution.

There is also a setting in the Video Settings of your XBOX one which can set the RBG mode to PC Monitor. Try that one? Also make sure to enable and test what BIT dept your monitor can do.

    Would also recommend a calibration.

If it still looks like "junk". Try another monitor? If that still looks like junk.

    Im out of options.

    Hope that helps!

EDITED: Oh come to think of it, what monitors do you have? There might be some settings there as well you can poke at.

    Regards,

Choosing a new tv for the xbox one S

To be honest with you I would go with a gaming monitor 1ms response time. They may be smaller but the picture quality and smoothness are great. Another good reason for this is the energy saving and they are much healthier on the eyes. I currently use 2x
Benq MLG Console Monitor 27" and I can't fault them.
