Console frozen while updating

Nevermind, it's back on. All I did was turn off the console, and did the power cycle thing. I booted to the green screen, I waited 5-10 minutes and it went back to the dashboard.

My kinect is still in the box, never been touched. After the initial update there was a long wait, but I didn't power off my console or even touch the controller because it's better to wait and pray than to end up with a brick. After the long wait, everything
turned out fine for me. I hope the OP works out his problem, but I think that what he thought was frozen was the same as my long wait while the firmware finished updating.

OP, was it "frozen" on the green Xbox screen or a black screen *after* you downloaded the new firmware? If so, that's part of the update process and you powered down your console mid-firmware update.

Bonzi . I'm afraid that your in the same boat as me and your Xbox one is bricked and don't expect any help from the minions at Microsoft absolutely disgusting the way we have been treated

So because the console was frozen for roughly 2 hours, I had no choice but to power down and restart. At the first restart I got only a black screen, so I did a power cycle as a last hope. Sadly, I was met with the green loading screen at start up and that
seems to be a dead end for me. Have to say I'm very disappointed that a product would completely fail after only a year and a half of usage maybe two or three times a week.

Has anyone found a solution to this problem yet...?

On Saturday I bought Forza Horizon 2 and put my Xbox online for the first time in ages.

It prompted me to download the update. After doing so it stood stuck on the "applying update" screen for over an hour. So I went to work and left the system running. When I got home and turned it on, the system was stuck on the green loading screen.

Sunday morning I googled Everything in the world and figured out the steps for USB diagnosistic tool.

I tried them all perfectly and they all stopped on the same spot: the "Applying Update" screen.

So I decided to just factory reset the whole system. Guess what? That doesn't work either.

Called customer service and they told me it was faulty hardware. But its not. It was the update.

On Friday night alone I played Devil May Cry and Mortal Kombat X all night perfectly.

On Saturday afternoon I played Forza for two whole hours with absolutely no problems until I tried to go online to buy a car pack and was prompted to update.

This is crap. With everything I've been reading online, it really does seem like Microsoft is extorting us.

And is anyone even monitoring these forums. It seems like they just press a button and give everyone the same response ( Mr. Quimby ) just like customer service reads off the script. Everytime i call, someone new tells me the EXACT same line: " I understand
how you are feeling. I too feel frustrated when this happens. Lets see what we can do to help:... you know what would help? stop repeating the same lines. Let me speak to someone in charge who knows what they are talking about. Because as much as anyone wants
me to believe that i broke my own Xbox One, i didn't. All i did was apply a mandatory update that i was forced to download. This isn't good business, and i wholeheartedly wish i would have purchased a Playstation 4 when i had the chance.

Is there anyone real we can talk to?

Maybe a number we can call to talk to a real person?
