Console freezing on startup

I just bought a brand new Xbox One about a month ago and whenever I turn the console on and play a game, it freezes for the first minute or so. Both the video and audio will lag/freeze really bad. For reference, it is similar to having a really laggy connection
while playing call of duty multiplayer. However, the freezing I am experiencing has absolutely nothing to do with the internet connection. It will also zoom in really far while playing FPS games (the only type of game I own) and then come back to normal zoom
and then zoom out really far again. After about a minute or 2 of constant freezing and lagging, I am able to play games normally and without trouble. How do I fix this problem? Thanks

Thanks! I just came here to ask if game freezing on startup is a known issue or if my console is dying. Glad to hear it's not just me.

 

Is there a problem with Xbox X software

I’ve started to get issues with downloads freezing, saves not syncing, games not loading and when power cycling the console startup errors.

 

Exchange it for a new console.

 

I did not purchase a warranty for my Xbox, they wont let me send it back. I already called Target (where I bought it from) and they won't let me exchange it.

 

I bought mine at Target too. Umm, I'm pretty sure they will. Hold on, I'm calling them.

The man I spoke with at Target said I could not exchange it because I did not purchase a warranty/insurance on my xbox. It has been more than 30 days since I bought it. I made the mistake of waiting until now to try to fix it. Is there anything else I can
try? I will call Microsoft tomorrow and see if they can help me.

 

Yes, MS is your next stop. Don't you guys get a one year warranty?
