    Console freezes when I try to use w/ new controller


    The RB on my old (wired) controller broke recently, so I purchased a new wireless controller. This controller came with an adapter which plugs into the console (mine is an original Xbox 360 console). I used the enclosed software to sync the controller
    with the adapter, then plugged the adapter into my console. Whenever I try turning on the console with the new controller connected, it freezes during the logo loading. This happens
    every time I try operating the console with the new controller. Are newer controllers incompatible with older consoles? Thanks to anyone who can help me.

    xbox 360 wireless controller freezes the console

    hey guys, So i have an xbox 360 wireless controller which i use to play on my pc and i recently acquired a new xbox 360. the thing is, the controller i use for my pc freezes the console when plugged in. is it because my controller is for windows or
    what? I have another controller which came with the xbox and it works but console freezes when i plug mine in.

    Freezing minecraft issues!

    Just started a couple days ago, the whole console freezes when I hit "respawn". If you disconnect the controller and try to reconnect it just flashes and searches for other consoles.

    controller freezing console

    Hi there,

    when you are trying to use the controller on the Xbox 360, do you do that with or without the wireless usb adapter.

    Be sure to try it without when trying, since it shouldn't be needed on the 360 console. Use the pairing buttons on console and controller to establish a connection like show here:

    Game chat freezes game and kicks me

    Hello John,

    Sorry for the issue with game freezing and getting kicked. Have you made sure the controllers are up to date? If using batteries try a brand new set. When you update the controller leave the headset plugged in. Also is your console plugged directly into
    the wall? If not try plugging into the wall outlet.

    Xbox controller freezing

    Hey there! I want to make sure I'm following here. What you are saying is, that the controller only freezes when playing the one game? If that's the case, please try installing the game using the steps here: Manage
    Your Xbox Game Library    .

    If those steps don't help, there are a couple things I'd like to know:

    • If you play this game using this controller on your other console does it freeze?
    • If you play this game on this console using a different controller, does it freeze?
    • Does it ever freeze at any other times besides when you play this game?

    Hi Sbickz,

    Thanks for your post. I understand you are experiencing issues with your Xbox One controller freezing during use. Do you mind describing it's behavior more? Does the light on the controller stay on when it freezes? You may want to also try plugging the controller
    into the console using a Micro USB cable. To further troubleshoot, try power-cycling your console, to do so, check out this article:
