Console fan noise

Hi, I think my X1 is making more noise than it is supposed to.

Am I supposed to hear the console fan from a 7 feet distance everytime I pause it during a play session? (Silent room)

Do corona and trinity have the same fan noise level? Is it possible to somehow lower the fan noise without sending the console for a repair? Thanks.

 

Console Fan Noise Increasing

My console should be back next Tuesday. I'll let you guys know. This time I clearly stated that a system reset does not work and they should replace the fan or console.

For the people waiting for a reply from the advocacy team; don't. They don't exist, you will never hear from them.

what kind of noise does it make ? Does it sound like a healthy fan noise or like a metal sounding noise?.

It's not a metal sound, but it is way louder than my xbox 360 slim when playing a digital game.

I'm not sure how to explain, but its like whirling sound, very differente from the 360.

 

I have the same problem, only just started hearing it. Mine sounds like a vibration effect that is not constant, but I can hear it pulsate 1-2 times a second. Then after playing a game for a while, it slows down to about once every 2 secs.

It doesn't seem like a bad sound, but I can hear it in a quiet room 7 ft away on the couch.

 

Is your console laid flat? Is it in a well ventilated area? These could cause these issues

 

have the same "Problem", when i quit a game and start it right up the fan is getting really loud

 

X1 is laid flat in a well ventilated area.

I know i can be a little OCD with this things, but I'm afraid this noise could lead to some kind of malfunction in the future.

Should I try to replace/fix my console or thats just normal?

 

This issue could just be a normal fan running in your xbox one,or it could be the disc drive

 

Now it's sounding like the fan is hitting a wire or something.

I can hear the thing while playing Dead Rising 3.

I'm replacing mine ASAP

 

Instant on mode causes PSU fan to run 24/7. Very annoying when every other a/v component is silent.

 

Dont know if this helps at all but it shouldnt make any noise at all

If your X1 is making noise (hard drive/fan) then it is faulty Ive had 4 different X1's due to different problems and one of them made excessive noise after playing games. I could then hear the noise over the TV when I watched it.

The other 3 have been practically silent.

Get in touch with Xbox to request a replacement.

 

I already sent my console for the exchange program.

I will hope that the new console will not make the same noise.
