i was about to say the same about MISTER QUIMBY is he even a person or just a bot that replies the same message just in a diferent way just like in my post

after doing an update,the next time i booted up the xbox one suddenly it stoped working and didnt go past the green screen,i was like WTF i didnt even used the console that much im much more on the xbox 360 so i came here and trhy the patch they released
and it didnt work but the reseting to factory defaults did,had to redownload everything witch sucked big time.

in a diferent forum i said that im afraid even to do an oficial update ,witch just feels wrong if you can´t even trust that.

im also with OP ,doesnt matter if you are over the warranty or not ,if an oficial and OBLIGATED update turns your machine into a useles brick ,i dont see why we the costumers are suposed to pay for it PERIOD ¬¬

i see that EVERYTIME an update happends some machines sudenly stop working,i supose if an update doesnt destroy many machines its because they want to be under the radar,not to make to obvious but its definetly suspicius and it smells rotten this is not
normal.

Has anyone found a solution to this problem yet...?

On Saturday I bought Forza Horizon 2 and put my Xbox online for the first time in ages.

It prompted me to download the update. After doing so it stood stuck on the "applying update" screen for over an hour. So I went to work and left the system running. When I got home and turned it on, the system was stuck on the green loading screen.

Sunday morning I googled Everything in the world and figured out the steps for USB diagnosistic tool.

I tried them all perfectly and they all stopped on the same spot: the "Applying Update" screen.

So I decided to just factory reset the whole system. Guess what? That doesn't work either.

Called customer service and they told me it was faulty hardware. But its not. It was the update.

On Friday night alone I played Devil May Cry and Mortal Kombat X all night perfectly.

On Saturday I played Forza for two whole hours with absolutely no problems until I tried to go online to buy a car pack and was prompted to update.

This is crap. With everything I've been reading online, it really does seem like Microsoft is extorting us.

And is anyone even monitoring these forums. It seems like they just press a button and give everyone the same response just like customer service reads off the script.

Is there anyone real we can talk to?

Maybe a number we can call to talk to a real person?

HEY: FORUM MODERATORS - PLEASE CONTACT YOUR SUPERVISOR, AND MAYBE ASK THEM IF THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT REQUIRES THEM TO CONTACT THEIR SUPERVISOR.

Still no fix then and the only resolution to this problem if the USB factory reset don't work is to send it to Microsoft for a costly repair and no guarantee that it will not do the same thing next time it does an update

Steiney76: I have yet to hear of it working for anyone, but it probably wouldn't hurt to give it a shot.

tashortie: Exactly why I think people with this problem need to be patient and complain. The number of us has to reach critical mass. How upset will you be if you spend $115, and they release a free fix (either free tool to download or
free repair, as they have done in the past with the Xbox 360).

i have also had major problems. Had an issue with the apps not displaying correctly but then recently i could no longer install games/apps or move then from internal to external or vice versa. Support then suggested a few ideas but this unfortunately then
caused my xbox to get stuck at the xbox logo screen. I have even tried doing the offline factory reset via usb but the xbox no longer reads from the usb port. And im told I will have to pay for the repair as warranty ran out in February.

I had my Xbox 360 for 5 years before I encountered the "red ring of death."

Microsoft replaced it for free! I did not expect that.

I had my Xbox One for 16 months and Microsoft sends me malware which turns it into a brick. I have to pay $115 to repair it because I am 4 months past the warranty.

So what stops you from sending me this malware package EVERY TIME my warranty expires? Why would I pay you to break my Xbox?

Mister Quinby: This is not an "inconvenience." Can't you see how the language you guys use is condescending and disrespectful? An "inconvenience" would have been spending 2-3 hours out of my day running the OSUDT2.zip file and it actually
worked. Or spending 2-3 hours on the phone with Xbox customer service and actually having a resolution, or maybe learning something that I didn't already know at the start of that conversation. Those things would be "inconvenient."

You know what's worse than an "inconvenience?" Extortion. We are being extorted out of our money to fix machines that
you guys broke.

This is like if a gang smashes your window and asks for protection money.

This is not an "update issue." This is Microsoft breaking my Xbox and then demanding money if I want to access my digital content ever again.

Why should we give in? You guys can do this to us whenever you want. There's no guarantee this won't happen the very next update after I get my "repaired" Xbox back. Your customer service "professional" told me to get a longer warranty next time. Well, if
you guys just do this to me after my warranty runs out again, it makes no difference how long the policy I purchased was. It's just more money in your pockets.

But, it's not seeming to reach any form of critical mass here, so I'm guessing this thread will go nowhere, just like the last one, and just like the next one. The message I am getting is that if your Xbox Live update breaks a small percentage of Xboxes
every month, then that is just the price of Xbox Live these days. Terrible way to treat customers. The other customers just aren't upset because it hasn't happened to them yet.
