    Console crashes constantly, is it broken?


    I'm starting to think my console might be broken. Ever since I had the console it has been causing me issues with crashing and I don't know if it is the xbox or the game at this point.

    The game I play the most is Call of Duty, and although I know this game is known for its crashes, it has got a bit crazy now to the point the game would crash (put me on the dashboard) upto 3 times a day.

    I then asked reddit what I could do to fix the issue, which some recommended turning off party chat overlay which I did. This looked to be working, until I got a different type of crash just now that green screened for half a second and switched the xbox off completely.

    This is actually becoming a joke and because call of Duty is one of the only games I have been playing at the moment, I can't tell if it is the game or the xbox causing these issues.

    The xbox doesn't look to be overheating either and this happens on both alpha build and the stable build.

    Is it worth getting a repair? Returning it to the retailer?

    I have the exact same problem. I'm on xbox #2 and it's broken in the exact same way as the first. None of my games work. COD constantly crashes with bad image file.

    It’s most likely due to issues qbout crossplay but I image they are working on fixing it. I know what you mean.

    Microsoft put the warning. You can follow the development of the situation here. Just scroll down a little bit. You can press notify me when the issue is solved.
    And there is a lot of posts here on forums.
