Console Connects to Live But Game Do Not - Please Help

This is by far strangest and most irritating issue I've ever come across with any piece of technology.

Here is my problem. I recently had my Xbox One offline while taking it over to my brothers house. He's in the middle of lacking internet at the moment so I just play my Xbox One offline. I've done this numerous times before and never had an issue upon returning
home and reconnecting everything. This time however, I've run into the most aggravating problem. My Xbox One is somehow connected to Xbox Live and the internet, yet none of my games that require or can use Xbox Live/Internet are registering that I'm connected.

I boot up Destiny, it tells me I have no network connection. I try Diablo, no network connection. I tried Shadow of Mordor and Warframe, same thing again. Yet I can browse the store, join parties and hear and speak, I can purchase things (I just bought the
Legend of Korra game this yesterday), and I can download updates for games. I can use YouTube, Netflix, Upload, Internet Explorer. My Xbox 360 still connects perfectly fine. All the PCs in the house are fine. It's just my Xbox One.

I have tried disconnecting my Xbox One from my network by selecting "Go Offline" and "Disconnect Wireless". I then reconnected and tested using the two test in the troubleshooting. Everything on my Xbox One points to me being fully connected to the internet
and by extension Xbox Live until I try playing a game that requires or accesses the internet for something. I've even rebooted my console using the cache clear and the hard reboot of unplugging the power, waiting two minutes, and plugging it in again.

I use a wireless connection if that helps at all. This is the first major issue I've had with Xbox Live since getting the One at launch. If anyone at all can help with this I would love some assistance.

xbox 360 malfunction

My console does not start user session, nor does it connect to Xbox Live; However, he lets me play any game he has physical.

I need to connect to the internet, but neither does it leave me, I do not know what to do, please help me!

Hello. today in afternoon, I was playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 in multiplayer mode normally. But, at 19:00, I was not able to connect to LIVE and still can not. I've tried all the solutions of the site, but I could not connect. The problem is that:
"Your console is connected to the internet, but can't connect Xbox LIVE". My connection is wired. WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW? Help me please. Thanks for any help.

 

I'm curious do you have all of your ports forwarded through your router, so you have an Open NAT? It almost sounds like the behavior it would have under a very Strict NAT setting. If you had it forwarded before, is it possible your xbox is connecting to
a different IP address than before you hooked it up? Generally, when ports are forwarded, it's only for a single IP address you assign to the box. If, for some reason, it connected using a different IP than the one for which you've forwarded ports, then it
would revert to a strict NAT.

If you've NOT ever done that, I would strongly suggest going to www.portforward.com and looking up your specific router model, and find the instructions for forwarding ports. The ports which need to be forwarded for Xbox One can be found at the following

If you've never forwarded ports before, it's entirely possible it DID work but isn't now, because I've read some folks discussing some things have changed with regard to networking after the latest update (e.g. "Open NAT" is now referred to as "Full Coned
NAT") so it could be changing the way your console is communicating with the Live servers within games.

 

I tried everything and nothing worked. I used both
http://www.portforward.com and forums.xbox.com/.../3034.aspx.

None of it worked. My Xbox One still connects to Live and the Internet allowing me to use all my apps. Games still tell me I have no network connection, or they can't contact servers, etc. etc. when I attempt to do anything involving the Internet/Live when
playing them.

 

Hmm... this is a very perplexing issue. I've done some scouring online, and this may not apply to you, but it has worked for some. There are folks out there saying that when their console connects, but the game doesn't recognize they are connected, that
all they have to do is return to the dashboard, manually sign out of Live and then sign back in again.

Again, I don't know if this will work for you, but it's another step to try. Sorry I can't give you anything more definite for the time being. I'll keep looking to see if I find anyone with a similar issue, as this is the first time I've seen this particular
problem!

 

Yeah I'm right there with this being perplexing.

I tried that as well. I launched Destiny, returned to the dashboard and signed out. Then I signed back in but Destiny still said I had no connection. If I can't find out anything soon I'll call support, ATT support, or as a last resort reset my Xbox One
to factory defaults to see if that does anything.

 

I took a completely drastic measure and it worked. It was the thing I wanted to avoid the most because I have downloaded a lot of stuff onto my Xbox One but I restored my Xbox One to factory defaults and that seemed to fix it.

All of my games can now access Xbox Live/Internet and am no longer getting any kind of error. Thank you for your help but I have a feeling the factory reset was probably the only thing that would have worked so I just went for it.

 

I'm having this issue aswell at the moment, it randomly started yesterday after a year of use. Please keep me updated.

 

Ugh, I'm sorry you ended up having to do that, but I'm glad it ultimately worked for you! The nice thing is, with saves being backed up in the cloud, you don't have to worry about losing save data, but it is a pain having to reinstall all of the stuff you've
purchased!

Silverback, try Restoring Factory Defaults, as that seems to have worked for Lion Turtle!
