Console Cannot Connect to HDMI

Hi there,

I've got a problem with my 2 different Xbox 360's, one is the slim 250Gb model whereas the other is an original model.

Whenever I have tried to connect the consoles to TV's via HDMI I get no display, however this is only on some TV's and the component still works on all.

I have also tried all the troubleshooting methods e.g. holding Y+RT and resetting the display settings.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Connect your Xbox 360 Console to an HDTV or monitor using HDMI Cable

If your Xbox 360 console has an HDMI port, you can easily connect an HDTV or high-definition monitor to your console using the HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) cable.

Here is how:

First, you need to connect the HDMI cable to the HDMI port.

You have to connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI input on your HDTV or monitor.

After connecting the cable properly, turn on your TV and console.

If the Xbox Dashboard doesn’t appear, you might need to change the video input setting.

The console automatically uses the default display settings. But you can also change the settings on the console to improve the video display.

Note: All Original Xbox consoles do not have an HDMI port.

Multiple controllers won't connect to my Xbox 360

Is your XBOX connected via HDMI to your TV?

If so, it could be a problem with the HDMI. Try to turn on the console first and let it start up completely and then turn the TV on. Then try to connect the controllers.

If that dosn't work you could try this as well:
support.xbox.com/.../wireless-controller-disconnects-frequently-or-cannot-connect

You'd have to make sure that you're resetting your settings properly...if you can just pop in the Composite/Component cables back in and your console is outputting through those, then you're not resetting them properly. May I suggest resetting them using
a wired controller?

Do the non working TVs work with a different device than the Xbox via HDMI?

If so, can you check with the manufacturer of the TV if there are known incompatibilities with the TV and the Xbox consoles?

Laptop HDMI's are output only, not inputs. An Xbox console cannot be connected to a laptop HDMI. They can, however, be connected to a TV or monitor.

HDMI Cable is connected directly to TV from the Xbox console. Under Audio, Headset is set to Uncompressed. I cannot get the cursor onto HDMI under the Speaker column. It says HDMI is off.

We had some other problems this weekend and may have changed another setting inadvertently. Thank you for your help.
