Console buzzing when off

    Console buzzing when off


    Hi,

    I've had my One S for two months now, but this weekend I've noticed theres a buzzing/ticking sound coming from the back right corner of the unit I'm sure wasn't there before. This doesn't sound like a fan noise, and it's actually occurring when the unit
    is powered off. I use energy saving mode, so the console should be completely off. Removing the cable stops it, but plugging it back in theres some whining sounds then the ticking returns. I've tried different wall outlets and different cables all with the
    same result.

    Is this common and/or nothing to worry about, or should I go ahead and contact microsoft for a repair/replacement?

    Xbox one S Buzzes when Off

    My xbox one S makes a buzzing noise when it is off, it is faint, and can be heard if i put my ear to the top or right hand side of the console. It is not a fan, because the console is on full shutdown. Also the console makes slight noise
    when I'm on the desktop. Is this normal? The buzzing sounds like a power adapter or something.

    Xbox One Dashboard Noise - Fix suggested

    Have to pudate my status: preview program console not only silent now, also gone the buzzing when you attack the power cord from the console off, stand by mode is also silent. Perfect now despite the DVD drive noise.

    Nope, it doesn't work on my console or wireless. When plugged in with USB cable, the buzzing is constant and sounds like an electrical buzz. The vibration motors don't seem to go off when this buzz happens.

    Does that happen with every game disc?

    Does it also happen with BluRay movies and movie DVDs or music CDs?

    When the disc is inserted, does the console show a disc is inserted?

    How does the buzzing sound? Is it more a "humming" buzzing sound, as if the disc is uneven and is spinning unevenly? Or is it an electrical buzzing, like an electrical motor unable to turn? Or is it a grinding buzzing as if plastic gears are slipping?

    What about the beeping noise? Is it a beep similar to the console turning on and off, or is that a different beep?

    Can you record a video of your console doing this and uploading that to YouTube?

    If it is a faint clicking sound when the console is powered off then it is perfectly normal, same goes for the controller with the buzzing sound when the controller is on. I have asked and researched about this as well and everyone who owns the console
    says its normal.

    It didnt work, the buzzing noise continued and the console kept turning off after a couple seconds of me turning it on.
