    Console Ban


    I received a personal account ban for posting an inappropriate photo as my gamerpic, but shortly after recieved a console ban and was never given reason. The personal account 14-day ban ended today, but the console ban lasts another 3 days, although I
    was never given reason as to why my entire console was banned.

    What happens to your games if you get banned on an XB One

    that is the same as it is now, if you manage to break the rules so badly its a lifetime account ban you loose everything jn that account.

    for a modified console its the console that is banned, I think you have to involved in active game code hacking or account phishing or other be involved in nasty completely ruin live for others areas to get a perm ban for your actual gamer account, hey are never clear on why accounts are banned tho

    Buying and setting up used XboxOne, will there be issues??

    If the previous owner has been banned from certain online games, would this affect the new owner? As I understand such bans are for the whole console, so that the banned person cannot just re-enter the game using another sign in and email.

    And so, if such bans were for the whole console, rather than single user, then it would no doubt affect the new owner.

    I applied for a case review for my personal account ban, but it was upheld. i never recieved reasoning for the entire console ban though, seeing as it didnt even show up on enforcement.xbox.com

    One thing you should know and understand is that console bans are ALWAYS permanent. That is why you cannot do a case review. Unfortunately the device in question will never be able to connect to Xbox Live again. The bans are never removed for any reason
    which includes someone who purchased a banned console unknowingly. Please visit the following web page for more information.

    Microsoft do not un-ban previously banned consoles as they are permanent. They do not ban people's consoles/accounts lightly, they do so after several investigations.

    The most common reason for a banned console is modifying it, but there are other reasons such as marketplace theft.

    You might want to post in section 14 in order to get an official answer.

    ok thank you what is section 14 ???? sorry not very good at this we've only used market place once and that was to buy some maps for call of duty and honestly we have done nothing wrong feel totally ripped off to be honest.

    exact same thing happend to me....I am out $300 for account theft (thank you so much Microsoft for keeping my credit card info safe) and now withing 30 days out console has been banned

    Tampering with the console is not the only reason for it getting banned. Other things like Marketplace theft and repeated violations of the
    Terms of Use are also reasons.
