    Consistent freezing, refusing to start games: How long until it's fixed


    I bought an xbox one and with barely any use at all it's already consistently freezing and refusing to start games. Then I try to turn it off and it doesn't want to just go off so I can restart it. It ends with me just ripping the cord out of the back. I've
    had the console for a few weeks and I probably did this like 10 times. That's ridiculous. I realize the system probably needs more updates to become the finished, functional console we already payed for. My question is when. When can we expect the Xbox one
    to be fixed so that it works properly?

    Thank you so much for answering, this has been a frustrating time, how long until it is fixed so I can continue to play with my mates? And how will you fix it? Will I get an email saying it's all good or will it just start to work one day?

    It's still taking forever to log in and keep freezing up until it finally logs me in. Why is this happening? When will this be fixed?

    Consistent freezing, refusing to start games: How long until it's fixed

    Try a hard reset by holding your finger over the power button for 5-10 seconds or until psu light turns orange, wait 30 seconds and restart the console.

    That doesn't work. It just happens again the minute you play a game and go back to dashboard. This console is unusable and I'm returning it to Best Buy this afternoon. It's < 12 hours old and I don't think it's a lemon device because others have the same
    issue.

    I can literally make this thing freeze, on demand, simply by loading a game, playing for 10-15 minutes and then going back to the dashboard. That's all it takes. That should be a common use case for a gaming console, the first thing that's checked before
    a device or FW ships out... But that's all it takes to make this device literally inoperable.

    I think I'm gonna take it back and get the PS4 again. My brother will just have to die lonely with no one to play with, because this is not a $500 user experience, and I'm not dumb enough to sit on it and hope they improve it, when I have 14 days to get
    my money back.

    I can't believe I let him talk me into this, Lol. I went from being able to sit on the couch and play for hours (PS4) to literally not being able to play for longer than 15-20 minutes between hard resets (XBOne). This thing's gotta GTFO of my house.

    Sorry to hear that you're having issues. This is something that happens to a lot of people. I am blaming the cache of the console for the long start ups or games/apps refusing the start. What you should do when this happens is hold the power button on
    the console for 10 seconds until is shuts down. That should fix it for you.
