Considering Service Repair

Hello: I am considering sending my Xbox One in for service. We had a lightning strike that toasted the cable box, TV and Xbox. Interestingly this does not appear to have happen over the power line, instead the cable line and HDMI. The Xbox power brick
is OK and working. When the you turn on the power to the Xbox the logo lights up you hear the ping and the light goes out. The power brick light will change from orange to white for that quick second. Before I send it in, can anyone tell me what I might
expect as a range of charges for repair? Thanks for the help.

still... down all weekend is a joke considering such a big company, lets just hope the actual Xbox repair service is more reliable than their website

If it's under warranty then it's free.If not then it's about £114 here in the U.K. so about $120 in the U.S. Not sure what that would be in other currencies.

You do get a 90 day warranty after the repair but in my experience you would be better off buying a new console.

Who did you talk to? Repair services cost a little over $100.

If you are talking to a source outside of Xbox for repairs then know that this is considered modding and could result in the console being banned from the service.

You can't simply just swap the drives in an Xbox, you have to do more to it than that to make it work. But per the terms of service, it would be considered system tampering to do so. Self-repairs are a violation of the terms of service.
