    The controller will disconnect from xbox causing the entire system to freeze, yet the controller is still on, and this has been happening a lot since the last 2 system updates. When the controller stops working it will freeze your xbox to and everything
    stops working, and if you are playing a game your game will stop functioning making you have to unplug the system. #Microsoft needs to fix this bad. And when I and other people are told to go update the controllers, we do and then we get a message that says
    the controllers are already up to date. No update is available!!! No they are not up to date, Duh. Again this started after the last 2 updates for the system. People have complained to you, Microsoft and all you say is, update the controllers. Yeah you are
    right #Microsoft, the controllers do need to be updated, but you need to offer a update first so we are all able to put a permanent fix to this issue. The controller still works fine, because when this happens, I am able to shut the controller off by holding the
    home button and use arrow key pad to push up and then right then it shuts off, the issues is when the controller turns back on, it freezes the system up,. It has nothing to do with the controller itself, it has to do with the last 2 updates that have screwed
    up bluetooth connectivity that you really need to offer update the bluetooth drivers and the controller drivers so it can be compatible with the new updates. This issues is far worse on windows 10. After all the complaints, Microsoft still haven't offered
    updates for bluetooth drivers and controller updates to permanently fix issues that have been going on for several months now. We get a reply with, update the controller lol. Obviously who ever is replying to us, dont know how to read, or comprehend a damn
    thing written or said over the phone, I really hope a REAL PERSON READS THIS AND GETS A FIX FOR THIS. PLEASE. AND THANK YOU. Still and always a Microsoft/xbox fan

    Can I use a Blue Tooth Adapter instead of a Xbox Adapter?

    Are you talking about connecting controllers to the PC?

    With a USB bluetooth adapter, you can connect one Xbox One S controller to the computer. Bluetooth connectivity requires your computer to be running Windows 10 (with the Anniversary update).

    Xbox One Controller won't connect to my Sony Xperia Z3+

    The only published Bluetooth drivers for the new Xbox One S controller are bundled with the anniversary update of Windows 10, meaning that the controller is only supported with Windows 10. It is not officially supported for other platforms.

    Anything you might find online with people getting the controller working on other platforms is likely just the controller partially working with generic Bluetooth input drivers (or third-party drivers not written by Microsoft).

    Thanks for the reply with update! Good to know that the controller is recognized when connected via USB; however, since the controller has worked wirelessly with Bluetooth in the past, sad to hear that it isn't now.

    Since the Bluetooth functionality had been working, this is possibly something related to the driver for that connection itself. You may wish to try updating the driver manually via the Device Manager to see if it kicks it into gear.

    1) On your keyboard, press Win+R(Windows logo key and R key) at the same time to invoke the run box.

    2) Type devmgmt.mscand press
    Enteron your keyboard.

    3) Expand the branch Microsoft Xbox One Controller.

    4) Right-click on the expanded Microsoft Xbox One Controller and select
    Update driver (On lower Windows 10 versions, select
    Update Driver Software).

    5) Click Search automatically for updated driver software. Then Windows will install the new driver for the device.

    6) Check to see if you can use the Xbox One Controller properly.

    Microsoft has not officially published bluetooth drivers for iOS.

    Currently, the bluetooth functionality on the controller is only supported on Windows 10 and Samsung Gear
    VR.

    You will be asked for a PIN when connecting your wireless Xbox One controller via Bluetooth on Windows 10 if your Bluetooth drivers are not updated. It is also possible that you have to reset the controller to remove the PIN. To resolve your concern, restart
    your controller by following the steps below:

    1. Power off the controller by pressing and holding the Xbox button on the controller for 6 seconds.
    2. Press the Xbox button again to power it back on.
    3. Connect your Xbox Wireless Controller to your PC using a USB cable or the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows.

    Win 10 is up to date as of today too :-(

    No problem connection Audio device via Bluetooth either.

    Also have 2 laptops running WIn 10 - same issue on both :-(
