  1. Connectivity issues driving me insane HELP

Alright, getting really sick of this issue. Ever since I bought my Xbox One which was almost 9 months ago, I can't stay connected to Xbox Live. I have tried literally everything I can think of. I opened all the ports on my modem and spent hours upon hours
doing it over and over thinking I missed something, still doesn't work. I keep calling my ISP thinking its something on their end, they have done everything they can think of to help me, still isn't working. I have sat in front of my modem watching it to
see if it shows my modem drop connectivity at the same time my Xbox does and it doesn't. I have made NUMEROUS posts on this forum seeking help and I never get it, I think I did one time and all they did was tell me to make sure all the ports were open on
my modem, guess what, I had already spent an hour doing so. I am at my wits end.

So what the hell is going on Microsoft? Obviously this is an issue with Xbox Live and as far as I can tell, an issue with this Xbox One. I had absolutely ZERO issues with connectivity when I had my 360, yet for some reason the very first hour after I hooked
up my Xbox One I started having issues. I will be watching Netflix and it crashes every 5 minutes and I have to wait for the One to reconnect to Xbox Live. I will watch for another 5 minutes and guess what? It crashes again and I have to repeat everything
again. I will be playing games online and they will crash every 5-10 minutes because I'm apparently no longer connected. This happens mostly with Destiny. Occasionally I will get lucky and I can have an evening where Netflix or my games will actually work
for more than half an hour, but the next day as soon as I turn on the One it does this *** all over again. I have noticed it doesn't seem to be as bad in the evenings however. In the evenings I can usually get more than 15 minutes of play in.

Like I said, I am at my wits end. I am on the verge of selling this thing which really sucks because I worked my butt off and saved to buy this for myself. I want some freaking assistance with this crap please. I mean, could you guys at least give the public
an explanation for this? I can see that I'm not the only one going through this. Is it an issue with the Xbox One itself? Is there some sort of software malfunction that certain systems have? Are you guys constantly getting ddose"d or whatever the heck
that hacking crap is called? Please help me! I am so sick of paying for services like Netflix and Xbox One that I can't even reliably use because this massive paperweight keeps disconnecting from Xbox Live or the internet. All of my other devices work just
fine, and like I said, my 360 worked FLAWLESSLY when I had it hooked up, it never crashed one single time.

    Here are my specifics:

I am using an Actiontec wireless modem Model PK5001A, I have checked all of the detailed service info and it says I have an open Cone NAT or whatever (I'm no tech wiz)

My download speed is 10.11 Mbps, upload speed is 0.68 Mbps, wireless strength is %85

I literally JUST got off the phone with CenturyLink about this problem and ran a bunch of diagnostic tests and speed tests and they told me there shouldn't be any way for it to keep crashing, please, for the love of god, help me out here.

    :)

Oh wow I am pretty sure I just got trolled by one of the so called "Ambassadors" on chat as well. I told them what the problem was and they said "Try resetting your modem by turning it off for one minute and then turn it on again" I told them "I have done
that about 30 times and it still isn't working" then they said "Oh well there is probably something wrong with your console then...." and then left chat. Are you serious? How was that helpful to me at all?

  5. That's horrible , you said you had an Actiontec wireless modem Model PK5001A....I believe that's a "gateway " (modem and router combo ) ....I hate those , they are not xbox friendly imo and UPNP and port forwarding may or may not work on them .....1st thing
I would do is hard wire it to see if everything is wi fi related or not , next step (this is what I had to finally do and it fixed everything ) is go and get a separate modem and separate router (netgear cheapies were the fix for me as even the people at xbox
told me they were "friendly" ) make sure to get the same brand modem and router because if you have a problem and call the modem people , they will blame the router....and visa versa....been there , done that....

I would try what Bimnog said and plug in directly to your router and see if that makes a difference. If it does then as he said its probably a wifi problem. If you live in an apartment complex or an area with many different wifi signals then there may be
to many routers on similar channels. I found on Centurylinks website where they explain how to change the channel your router uses and which ones they suggest using (internethelp.centurylink.com/.../modem-pk5001a-wireless-radio.html).
You can also download a wifi finder that shows how many signals are in your area and what channels they are using. Let us know if that helps at all. I also second the fact that router modem combos do not work very well for gaming in general. Ive had many problems
    with them in the past.

    Hey Meat Sweats 31,

I'm not going to add any troubleshooting steps because I think the methods provided to you by the other Ambassadors are very sound. If you do have problems don't hesitate to post back and let us know the results. There are still numerous things the community
can suggest to you to get the Xbox up and online (even on wireless should the network cable solution work). But I also wanted to apologize on behalf of all the Ambassadors. That isn't a good support experience, and as the community is giving the assistance,
some times you get a member that's not helpful. Feel free to use that service again as there are many helpful ambassadors that are willing to give you a hand.
