Connectivity issues. Doesn't let me connect until the second try. Chat, and ISP said try ...

My Xbox 360 is having some major connectivity issues. This problem started about 2 weeks ago: I turn on my Xbox to an Offline dashboard, try to connect to Xbox Live, doesn't work asks to run network test.

If I run network test the X is between the internet and Xbox Live symbol. If I push B and connect again IT CONNECTS... I have been able to do this to still play over the last two weeks and disregarded it as a system bug that will be fixed on the next update.
Was excited when I saw an update today, however when I connect the second time it asks me to update the system. When I do, it downloads the update but when it starts to install it, it gives me the error code 417F-42FC-A080-0A00-8015-000B.

Steps I have tried:

- Wireless connection & Ethernet connection

- Updating via flash drive (it is FAT32, I extracted the updated files onto the blank root, it doesn't try to update off of it when I restart the xbox and it still wants to use the internet to update)

- Called Centurylink to ask if there was issues on their end (none) she did a power cycle on the modem.

-Port forwarded all 4 ports (even though this has not been an issue before the last 2 weeks)

-Removed the hard drive and formatted the USB to load profiles onto... again running into connectivity errors.

-Cleared cache 3 times, and LB, RB X, LB, RB, X at the storage option to remove recent update

-Switched to a Static IP and tried to get that to work, still had the same issues.

-Did a factory restore on the modem

connecting to live

What happens when you try to connect, AgEnT Megabytes? If you're a Comcast/Xfinity user, we had some connectivity issues related to that ISP yesterday but they should be sorted out now. Let us know!

it won't let me update anymore so support said i needed to post a forum asking.

 

It doesn't seem that anyone can help. I have tried Chat, Phone and Forum and this issue is "baffling" people. I'm not sure what needs to happen to get this fixed... I was on the fence about getting a PS4 for the holidays so I can play Destiny with my coworkers,
and this is really pushing me over the fence. Please help.
