  1. Connection Trouble. Is it the ISP, my 360, or...?

Here's the issue, for a while now, I've had a pretty bad connection. I'll be lucky if i can even connect at all. I usually get an error of 80151911 or 8015191B. I go through the suggestions of unplugging and restarting my modem and stuff like that, none
of which works. The only thing that seems to help is resetting my 360's network settings to the factory defaults, then restarting my xbox. When I test it then it will connect with the modem fairly quickly along with the internet and then sometimes with xbox
    live.

I can test the internet by itself and everything seems fine but when I test the xbox live connection is fails 9 times out of 10. This is the latest Error Status Report:

    W: 0000-0021

    X: 0400-F001

    Y: 0000-0000

    Z: 0000-0000

    ID: FFFF-FFFF

    L: 8015-1909

    Q:8007-0435

    T: Wireless

    D: 75.75.75.75.75.75.76.76

    S: WPA2

    C: 6

P.S. Other electronic devices can connect to the internet just fine where I am, only the xbox seems to be having trouble.

    :)

    Trouble getting Open NAT

Hi, I'm having trouble getting Open NAT with my current ISP SpeedConnect. I called them and they said that they opened all the ports to my router, I had Open NAT for a few days but then it went back to Moderate.

Is there any suggestions for things I could ask my ISP to do with my connection?

  3. Disconnection

If you have tried connecting directly to your modem and still encountered such connection problems then the router is definitely not the problem. Is this connection issue visible while playing other online games (Black Ops II, NBA 2K13) ?

If not, you could try clearing cache http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-360/settings-and-initial-setup/clear-system-cache . If it does not
help then the problem could be your ISP causing you trouble.

Set your Xbox to have a static IP, and if possible, enable QOS on your router/modem to ensure your Xbox gets first priority.

  5. I've set the static IP, it didn't change anything. I went back to automatic configuration and have been able to connect consistently over the past several days.

Now, the problem has come back and I can't sign in to xbox live. I keep getting the error code 80151909, which apparently has to do with downloading profiles, which I'm not doing. I've tried resetting the IP to a static one and tried to find the QOS settings
for my router. QOS settings don't appear to exist on my router (which is a comcast xfinity all-in-one router and modem).

I've seen some other postings where people get this error when near their gold membership renewal date, mine is exactly one month away.

I'm at my wit's end. I'm about to toss this thing out a window.

    Hey there VIILivelySins!

Sorry to hear about the connection issues.

Could you please answer the following questions? Doing so will give us an idea of your network layout.

What Country/State/Province do you live in?

    Modem brand & model number:

    Router brand & model number:

How many consoles do you have connected to this router?

Wired or wireless (for each console):

If Wireless, are you using a white or black external adapter, or an internal (Xbox 360S) adapter?

    Things you have tried:

    Is UPnP Enabled? Yes/no/Unknown

Do you have a NAT error? If so, what is your NAT type?

    Any Error Codes you encounter:

Who is your ISP(Internet Service Provider)?

We'll be waiting for you to post back =)

It is your xbox most likely. Well. its all of our xbox 360s. Lots of people have the same issues and some days it works, others it doesnt. Spoke with the guys on live chat, and they said they knew about it and was working on it. Official site says that there
is a problem related to MW, but they know its related to the live service it self, and not to a game. Question is; how hard are they working to fix it. I bet the 360 team isnt that big anymore.

Hope they fix it soon Connection Trouble. Is it the ISP, my 360, or...? :)

  10. Brosky aP, i have checked that solution and have been able to clear my system cache, otherwise it seems to be somewhat of a catch 22. The solution says to delete my profile, clear my system cache, then redownload my profile. The problem is, if I can't connect
to xbox live in the first place, how can I download my profile?

As I understand it, the 80151909 error is attributed to something with a faulty profile. So I don't understand why it's affecting my connection to live.

Perhaps laitoo is right and its because of this xbox live system error that is supposedly only affecting matchmaking in certain games. If it is, I hope they fix it soon. I want to actually use the service I'm paying for.

  11. Yeah, I've been having the same problems for a while now. I've tried everything to get it working properly and nothing has worked. I'm positive there's a problem with Live itself and not with us.

    Hey again VIILivelySins!

Sometimes corrupt items on your HDD can interfere with the connection to Xbox Live.

Also, the matchmaking Service Alert should not be an issue whilst trying to connect to Xbox Live.

Now, I see that you're currently using a wireless connection. Have you tried using a network cable instead of your wireless network, just to see if that makes any difference?

  13. Connection Trouble. Is it the ISP, my 360, or...?

Brosky aP, since you mentioned the wired connection I started doing some more active testing on my xbox. It turns out, that while my laptop and other devices can connect with little trouble, my xbox that is far older technology wise can not. I found this
out by moving the xbox across the house and closer the router, at which point it connected perfectly. I can't keep it by the router as that's more of an office than a game room, so what I did was go and buy a wireless range extender and put it in the same
room as my xbox. It now seems to be connecting just fine and the speed is as it is by the router.

I believe my problem should be solved at this point. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
